Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Yianny (he / him)
Another week, another crew of Lambeth legends lacing up for good! ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ We set off from Papa's and ran to Windmill Gardens, where the weeds had clearly been plotting a takeover. ๐ฟ๐ฑ
Our heroes Ben, Michael, Jo (who led the session โค) Dan, Fi, Tilly (who baked!), Rich, RJ and Adam rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in. ๐ช๐ผ There was weeding (we really got to the root of the problem ๐ชด), manual work (we nailed it ๐จ), and general sprucing (we left the place looking trashy in the best possible way ๐๏ธโจ).
Special shoutout to Dan, who dug so deep we think he found Australia. ๐ฆ Fi and Jo tackled the tasks like they owed them money ๐ธ, and Ben, Michael and Adam had to share a teeny tiny pumpkin which didn't turn into a carriage. ๐งฐ
Hats off to the whole team for being absolutely un-fork-gettable. ๐ด๐ป Waterworks allotments is looking thyme-lessly gorgeous, and the community will love it! โค๏ธ
Same time next week? We'll be there, ready to turnip and make a difference! ๐ฅ๐

The Friends of Windmill Gardens (FoWG) were formed in 2003 with three aims: * to get the Grade II listed Brixton Windmill restored and opened for public visits โ in 2002 it had been put on English Heritage's buildings at risk register; * to make Windmill Gardens park a more welcoming space for local people; * to have a new education centre at the windmill. Windmill Gardens gained a Green Flag Community Award in 2015 and we have just been judged again so our fingers are crossed that we will retain the award for the next two years.
