10 people ran 7k to do a litter pick for Oasis Foundry School
Tonight we had a new task. We were going to help out at Oasis Foundry School, well their wildlife to be exact. We set off on our way, it was around 3k to our destination. On arrival we were greeted by Megan, who took us over to the wildlife area. Even more exciting we got a warm welcome from two Al Paca’s! Something you wouldn’t usually see in inner city Birmingham! Now you may have guessed were this weeks pun came from! Fiona gets the credit for the weeks run title. I even got a selfie with our fury friends!
The task was a big litter pick around the wildlife area, so off the group went armed with gloves, bin bags and head torches. They spent a good 20 minutes doing their good deed. Once done it was picture time and a goodbye to a very grateful Megan. Unfortunately we couldn’t say goodbye too our Al paca friends, they had retired too their hut!
All done we hit the road back to 1000 Trades. Just before arrival we did a pyramid interval session. 30 seconds, 45 seconds, 1 minute efforts, before going back down to 45 and 30 seconds, all with just 30 seconds rest between each one! Oh and just for good measure I chucked in an extra 1 minute effort! Everyone put their usual shift in. Tom and John pushed hard. Charlotte and Fiona drove hard up the hill and Liam showed some good leg speed on the downhill sections. Basically one way was up hill and the other was down, so a good mix! Once done everyone was exhausted, so the group were quite pleased our base was only just around the corner!
Next week we will be out doing good again, it would be great if you could join us sign up here.
