I’ve been visiting the lovely Ms L for the best part of a year, she had Motor Nerone Disease and has noticeably deteriorated in that time. To start with it was sorting out boxes of stuff from her old home now it is more doing the things that the carers are not able to do for her.

She loves her plants as is unable to water them herself, so going round her flat with a watering can is one of the first things I do whilst the kettle is boiling- she always refers to her Aloe Vera as ‘Ello Vera’ in a Yorkshire accent, we always laugh about it. Her tea caddy needed filling up with tea bags too as she can no longer get into any of her cupboards. The main stuff though was trying to get rid of papers relating to her old home that she no longer need to make life a little easier for whoever has to clear out her current flats when she moves or dies. It’s a little morbid and there were a few tears.

We always make time to have a cuppa and chat about how we’ve been since we last saw each other. She is increasing frustrated by the MND and the need for so much help. She is always incredibly appreciative of what I do.
