Claire, Jade, Sabir, Rachel, Julie and Ken all met at the Quaker Centre for a warm up and run to the BHF shop to help create a festival window. We hadn't met Ken before but he's a seasoned GoodGymer and used to setting up tasks up the road in Richmond - welcome to your first Kingston outing!
After a loop of Fairfield we headed around the houses and then to town to assemble at the BHF shop. We met Mira, Jas and Jana there - what a great crowd! GoodGymers love this task as the store room is like a box of treasures and we can let our creativity go wild with the window design.
Christine and her staff welcomed us and let us loose in the stock room. We filled 3 large cages with sleeping bags, tents, foldaway chairs and hampers - anything you might need for a weekend at Glasto. In the other stock room, Ken, Jas and Sabir moved a large metal display cabinet down the lift to use as a backdrop and storage for the items.
Halfway through the task, the place had stuff everywhere so it was definitely a race against the clock. We focused on the task at hand and soon the window started to come together. By the end of the hour we were done and very impressed with what we had achieved in that time. Passersby were even stopping to take a look! Mission achieved. Well done, GoodGym Kingston.
We'll be setting up Halloween and Christmas window display tasks soon so keep an eye out for those.
