After a brief chat re all things Barnsley we set off for Lavender court on a longer than usual task which gave us the opportunity to get a longer run in as well as take in some great features along the way including a HUGE stair set and some fantastic views of Barnsley and the surrounding area now we have an hours extra light!

On arrival we got a lovely wall sit group photo before heading into Lavender Court to be kindly greeted by Danny who has been great helping to organize tasks at Lavender Court.

We got tooled up with spades, forks, rakes and loppers and get straight to work continuing the work that had been started in the residents garden, clearing the bushes and turning the soil ready for some re-planting which we may well comeback to in the near future.

The roots ran deep, but it was no problem for our surly @GGBARNSLEY Bunch who made light work of the stubborn shrubbery! Dan even felt it necessary to give some of the plants a good old smack once they were out of the ground for good keeping! Go on Dan, show that bush whose boss!

Sheffield Kat who came straight from Leeds with work made light work of the area she was working on and was glad to be getting in the practice ready for her own landscaping project at home.

All of our work was done under the watchful eye of a very friendly and complementary resident who stated;

I never thought they would get all that done!

Once all the perennials were pulled, we posed for a few final shots, getting creative with our garden tools and then headed back to base with thanks from Danny ringing in our ears until next time.

Together Housing
One of the biggest housing associations in the North of England with over 38,000 homes mainly across the Yorkshire and Lancashire areas

Together Housing is a non-profit making organisation and any money we make is invested back into the association for the benefit of our residents and local communities. As well as houses to rent, we also build and manage homes for sale, sheltered accommodation and extra care. Together is not just about providing homes. Along with Newground Together, our charity, we fund lots of voluntary groups and community projects to help improve life and opportunities for work for local people.
