Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Frederique
Pam had 5 of her regular group and 2 GoodGymers that day to clear and beautify the space behind a commemorative bench dedicated to Iris. The family had visited a couple of weeks back and said that there used to be Irises growing there so that what we did, should see them next Spring! Great transformation and perfect day.
These popular sessions combine an opportunity to do some physical work and also to learn about various aspects of gardening. There are a variety of tasks suitable for all ages/abilities ; sweeping, pruning, digging, weeding, planting, mulching, propagation, transplanting, watering. We also maintain a small vegetable patch where we have planted potatoes, runner beans, courgettes, tomatoes, spinach and kale (produce will be available to volunteers :)). Tools provided, no experience necessary. Gloves provided but please bring your own is you have some. Also great opportunity to meet like minded people, events so far have been filled with chat and laughter, the team usually visit the cafe after the session for a well earned cuppa.
