Sunday 15th September
Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Julian Osman
The seasons are changing and summer activities are giving way to the return of autumn favourites. And so it was that on Sunday morning Good Gym, including the amazing Sian who'd made her way all the way from Tower Hamlets, found itself back at Lochaber Hall to help the All Aboard club, a wonderful organisation that provides an environment for children with special educational needs, ADHD and autism to play.
As ever we were met by organiser Richard who put us to work. There was one main job: use our imaginations to assemble a giant train set layout for the kids to play with. After an hour, we'd transformed an empty hall into a giant train network and as the kids started to turn up to play we took our leave.
This is a genuinely lovely task and is now going to be back on a monthly basis so why not put your engineers hat and join us for a future session.
Our activities are designed and run by specialists with lived experience of autism and ADHD. We understand the children’s challenges and the importance of their special interests. Play sessions Help them boost their confidence, reduce anxiety and share their interests with other children in a safe, supportive and understanding environment.
