Report written by Jo O'Leary
What a beautiful day for a long run with friends ♥️. After rain for days and days, there could surely no better way to top up the essential Vitamin D levels (got to look after those bones, trust me - I'm a Dr!) than with a run in the beautiful Wiltshire country side.
Trust10 runs are free 10k runs held on the 4th Sunday of the month at National Trust sites across the country from April to October. GoodGym Swindon has been well represented at the event at the beautiful World Heritage site of Avebury throughout the year, and the last Trust10 of 2019 saw a record turnout. Not only because we love a good GoodGym gathering, but this time we were also there supporting Helen on her first trail 10K, which she was doing to raise funds for her upcoming voluntary work in the Gambia. Joining Helen as first timers were Tracy and Gina - we hope to see both of you back again for the 2020 season!
It's safe to say that today was mostly about staying upright as we slid our way around the muddy course. But as always the good company, chatter and amazing views kept our spirits high and the time flew by. We adopted Alice on our way round, who is a big GoodGym fan and waiting for GoodGym to take off in Winchester. We hope you don't have too long to wait, Alice, and meanwhile you are always welcome at GoodGym Swindon.
Once we'd all made it back to base, it was time for some quick snaps (great work by Mr Helen aka Chris) and then for those who could stay, cake in the sunshine. What a lovely way to spend a Sunday morning!
Our next GG gathering at a race is at the Swindon 10K on Sunday 17th November; why not check it out here and sign up today?!
