Report written by Amy L (she/her)
Lots of GoodGymers helped out the Baby Bank this weekend as they moved home. This vital charity help families in need with everything from nappies and moses baskets to coats and school uniform, and they need to hold a lot of stock so they can respond quickly to referrals. Shifting all that stuff to a new warehouse is no small job.
Well done to Rachel, Clara, Jess, and Alice, who joined me in helping out on Saturday. Also a very warm welcome to Rachel as this was her first GoodGym session. Rachel was packing up in the old premises whilst I was unloading at the new site, so we didn't actually get the chance to meet. Rachel you must come back soon so I can say a proper hello!
A big cheer for Anna and Roberta, who helped out on Sunday. Anna reported back that it was great to meet Roberta and Roberta shared a brilliant video of Anna in action (captured in the photo for the Sunday report).
And finally congratulations to the Baby Bank and kudos to their volunteers and to Green Bros Removals, who were helping them free of charge. They worked tirelessly all weekend and must be shattered!
We look forward to continuing to help this brilliant charity with sorting donations in their new home. Keep an eye on our 'happenings' page for more sessions.
The Baby Bank collects donations of good quality clothes, equipment, and furniture to help families in extreme need. They provide essentials ranging from everyday items like nappies, and wipes to larger items like cots. They support families beyond the baby stage, for example with school uniform. They aim to give all children the best possible start in life.
