Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Louise Chambers
A small but perfectly formed group spread the word about Food2You food delivery service for the elderly.
No sporting milestones to report this week (apart from Tim being the fastest in his age grading at last weeks parkrun) but huge congratulations to Mark who got engaged at the weekend, far more exciting!
This week our task was to display posters for the new Food2You delivery service set up by Age UK to help elderly people stay independent by delivering fresh ingredients. To make the task more entertaining, we had challenges to complete along the way - find some cool street art, take a photo by a local landmark and Halloween decorations, find a quirkily named shop or street, and a cute animal. We split into 2 teams of 3 with one heading to Penge and the other to Crystal Palace.
Both teams did a great job in finding local community noticeboards and getting posters displayed in numerous shops and pubs. Local street art was easily come by, but the cute animals proved a little trickier.. A stuffed fox, more scary than cute, was the offering! The Westow House had Halloween decorations a-plenty including, rather puzzingly, life size cardboard cut-outs of Philip Schofield and Ainsley Harriott.
Thank you to Helena for the pun, which edged out Mark's 'did you notice us?', and to Clare for the lovely arty landmark shot of the transmitter and sports stadium lights through the trees.
Next week we are heading back to Melvin Hall to take down some old shelving and assemble some new, sign up here. If you fancy some pacing, time keeping or marshaling this coming Saturday, head over to Hilly Field parkrun for a Lewisham GoodGym takeover. Sign up here.
