Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Conroy
Yesterday afternoon when I checked the sign ups for the group run there were 19 sign ups. When I finished work and began making my way to Solutions in the snow chatting away to a colleague about GoodGym my mind wondered away from the conversation as I thought to myself "I wonder how many of the sign ups would actually turn up given the horrible weather conditions?"
Credit goes to Steph who ran all the way from Thornton Heath in the snow to be apart of last night's task, the dedication to ensure we had that extra deed in our January challenge.
Martin was back for more, he's got the bug he even brought his documents along for his DBS check, nice to see that we impressed him on his first visit that he has decided to come back and dived right in. The magic of GoodGym just keeps pulling in new members.
12 Brave or Crazy runners ignored the freezing cold, snowy conditions to run to Tunstall Nursery to help clear the sand pit of old unwanted sand and tidy up the play area. We had a team of sweepers sweeping up the surrounding areas of the nursery while one team focused on clearing and bagging up the sand from the sand pit.
We have delivered leaflets in the pouring rain, now swept and shifted sand in the falling snow, no matter what the weather the GoodGym goodness continues. Jane was quite pleased that we had turned up and cleared the sandpit she even mentioned us coming back to fill the pit with new sand once the climate changes.
Next week we are back at Tunstall to do some more work but after that we are off to the Builder's Arm for our monthly social and they also have a quiz night that night too sign up here
Still time to get some extra good deeds for the January Challenge, this weekend we are at South Norwood Parkrun with various roles available sign up here
