We have quite a lot in common with Father Christmas. Red and white clothes, a commitment to spreading good cheer, lots of belly laughs and an appreciation for mince pies. So we were delighted this evening to have the chance to help him and the PTA at Clewer Green First School with some gift wrapping.

Well done to all those who car shared from Maidenhead, and to Sara for making the journey over from somewhere beginning with C (Christmas Common!?) Thanks also to Gillian for joining me for a little pre-session run to test my dodgy hamstring.

We met in the pirate park and started with the important task of sharing out Christmas head-wear, mostly stolen from my children - thanks kids! Special mention to Kanika and Diya, who brought along excellent elf hats.

We had a quick warm up before gathering around a fairy-lit tree for our elf and safety briefing. Then it was time to Dash(er). Gillian and Georgeta (who put the GG in GoodGym!) were up for a run, so they made their own way safely together, while the rest of us walked the 1km to the school.

The school PTA gave us a wonderful warm welcome including the offer of hot drinks, wine and biscuits. Taskforce member Amanda, who kindly organised this task for us, had clearly briefed them well on what GoodGym is all about...! Thanks also to Diya, Kanika and Steve, who also brought yummy mince pies and chocolate.

The PTA invited us to join them on two tables wrapping gifts for the grotto and children's Christmas shop fundraisers they are planning. Accompanied by fun Christmas music and treats to nibble, this task was a real cracker!

We spent a lovely hour busily wrapping and managed to stack up 259 wrapped goodies before it was time to grab some team photos and sleigh goodbye to the school.

It definitely felt like the North Pole outside, but we still enjoyed a bit more of a fitmas fix with our run/walk back to the cars.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight! Hope to see you all in December.
