We met some of the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust staff at their gazebo set up in Foxwood for their community engagement day. This involved the supply of several skips (for residents' rubbish) which had been delivered earlier that morning, but we soon discovered that they had all been completely filled by the time we got there! I paired up with one member of staff to the furthest skip (still just around the corner) to survey the "delights" that had been left - including several bikes, a bathtub and mattress, most of which were not allowed in the skip so had to be removed (and later collected in a JRHT van). I did manage to prevent another mattress being put on top of the skip by a local resident (which are not allowed as these incur a cost a the tip) before doing a litter pick of the area. Claire, Leanne and Hannah were also litter picking and between us we collected several bags of rubbish before our hour was up.
