Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
OK, let's try this again. On last week's trip to Sayers Croft there were no keys available to let us in, so we were a little worried this evening as we set off on the 10k round trip to the same venue.
However, remaining positive, we kept a steady pace for the journey up, with Barnet regular Damian tail running.
On arrival and with a bit of confusion at reception it seemed for a moment like we might be turning back round again. But, we stuck to our guns and with a bit of persistence managed to get a set of keys and gain access to the environmental area.
The kids that use the area have been making fires in a fire bowl to toast marshmallows. Yum. They sit there and eat them and tell stories. Their only problem is that it takes ages to find sticks for the fire, so this is where GoodGym step in.
Because of the long journey and key bartering we only had ten minutes to carry out the stick hunt, but it's surprising what an enthusiastic bunch can do in ten minutes and we ended up with a respectable bundle.
For the journey home we included a few harder runs thinking a little about technique (standing tall, quiet footfalls) and also got sprinty with a game of secret surges.
Great job everybody. Cory's back next week, but I am sure I will see you soon,
Simon
