3 runners dashed from Blue House Yard to Meadow Orchard, only to realise there was no GoodGymers meeting us at the task, so we could have ambled along at a party pace.

But that didn't stop us from working flat out at the task! The meadow had a tonne of wood chip delivered, which the fungus was starting to turn onto good quality mulch outside in the car park. With some solid shovel work, we cleared the lot before sunset! Starting to reclaim an old spoils ditch into a usable path. Despite all the goodness this will add to the soil, there was no worms yet. Sorry little robin assistant!

Meadow Orchard Project
This land behind Hornsey Health Centre has been designated for community use by the NHS and is being managed as a community garden, orchard and wildlife space by volunteers

Meadow Orchard Project was set up in spring 2010 on 1.5 acre Metropolitan Open Land behind Hornsey Health Centre in Crouch End. The land has been designated for community use by the NHS and is being managed as a community garden, orchard and wildlife meadow by local volunteers. The site offers a welcoming, peaceful and inspiring natural setting to simply enjoy being in nature, to meet people, to get involved in many different activities and to learn new things. The project aims to promote the health, wellbeing and creativity of the local community, provide learning experiences and build a sense of community. The project also aims to protect and enhance a unique and rare wildlife habitat in London.
