Welcome to GoodGym Bexley!

We're a friendly and sociable group who combine exercise with helping out in the local community. We meet every Wednesday evening to get active and do a physical task to help community organisations and charities in our area.

This session is ideal if you are new to GoodGym or just getting started with running, as it's a short distance there and back. Prefer to walk there? No problem, we can have a walking group to get there too. Nervous about coming on your own for the first time? Why not invite a friend to come along with you.

The task

We're on a mission to help tidy up and make the school even better for the children. Our regular visits have involved cutting back low-hanging tree branches, building bug hotels, clearing and outdoor play area, sorting out musical instruments, tidying an art cupboard and painting classrooms.

This time we'll be unpacking and putting away new resources for the Early Years classes, and painting an outside board.

Yes, we know that England are playing in the Men's Football World Cup semis at 8pm , so this task is ideal if you're not planning to watch to watch the game! Or come along for just bit then head home to catch the match.

📍 When and where

The task is at Holy Trinity Lamorbey CE Primary School, Burnt Oak Lane, Sidcup DA15 9DB, What3Wirdskocation: ///chase.assets.thick.

If you are going there directly, enter via the pedestrian gate next to the main driveway and walk up the drive to the main entrance where we'll gather at 7pm. Please leave a comment below so that we know to meet you at the school.

For the group run/walk meet at 6.35pm outside the reception at Sidcup Leisure Centre, Hurst Road, Sidcup. It's a short 1km distance to the school and no matter what your speed, at GoodGym no-one is left behind.

We'll run/walk back afterwards or you can make your own way home after the task.

This task was originally billed as building bug houses, but the school would now like us to focus on organising resources and painting an outdoor board, so I have updated the listing.

And, in case you are wondering, the task will be going ahead for anyone not watching the England footie match at 8pm ⚽️ (or if you want to do a good deed and be home in time for the second half!)

Walkable

You will be able to join a group walking to the task if you'd prefer not to run.

Options are available to run between 2km and 3km in total

Remember that we run/walk to and from the task, so you'll only be running/walking for half this distance in one go.

This is a standard GoodGym group run. If you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact us.
