Who this task will support
Merton Friends of the Earth
As a Friends of the Earth local group, we strive to protect the natural world and the wellbeing of everyone in it. We collaborate with other groups in the London Borough of Merton and beyond for a clean, green neighbourhood, and we also support Friends of the Earth’s national and international campaigns. From organising tree planting events to lobbying our local councillors and MPs, we campaign and develop projects on a range of issues to help tackle the climate and ecological crisis

We will be supporting Merton Friends of the Earth at their last Tree Care event of this year helping with the ongoing campaign to double tree cover in Merton, and care for the 1,200 tree saplings planted in Morden Park to date. There will be weeding and mulching to help with, tools and training will be provided but if you have gardening gloves these would be handy to bring along.

The event will run from 10am-1pm (meeting location: near ID Verde Depot, Hillcross Avenue entrance) but even an hour of your time makes a difference so feel free to attend for as lon (or short) as you like. However please register directly with Merton FoE if you plan to attend via this link: https://bit.ly/40SEljl. This will ensure that the team have an idea of numbers and can contact you with further information. If you have any queries in the meantime, please contact mertonfoe@gmail.com.

This event is being hosted by Merton Friends of the Earth in collaboration with the Merton Tree Wardens and Friends of Morden Park.
