Event manager: Lucy Plumridge Arrive at 8am to help at the event village • There are several bus stops situated along Castle Street to the south and along North Road to the east. • The West Gate entrance at the southern end of Bute Park is roughly 10 minutes’ walk from Cardiff Central station and 15 minutes’ walk from Cardiff Queen Street. • There are cycle racks available outside the Education Centre and by all 3 cafes. • The 2019 Speedway Grand Prix is also taking place on the 21st September and traffic levels in Cardiff may be higher than usual. If you decide to drive to the event, Cardiff Bay Rotary will be operating a carpark accessible from North Road (A470) – the carpark will be open from 8:00 at a special rate of £5 for participants in the Mencap 1k, 5k and 10k – just let them know you are taking part. Use the postcode CF14 3ER and follow the yellow notices along the road to locate the carpark. • Alternatively pay and display car parking facilities are available nearby in Sophia Gardens (CF11 9LJ), Castle Mews (CF10 3ER) and North Road (CF10 3EA).
