Readying the Thames Venturer

Ensure that the boat is ready for school groups after half term. Without the tank being topped up there's a risk we may not be able to deliver the education days.

The River Thames Boat Project
The River Boat Project uses 2 wheelchair-accessible boats to improve access to the Thames. 1 boat (Thames Discoverer) is used for therapeutic cruises whilst our 2nd boat (Thames Venturer) is used as a floating classroom for primary school children to learn about the river and the natural environment.

Ahoy there! During half term, the Thames Venturer will require a deep clean internally and externally. The freshwater tank will also need topping up which will be done with a relay of camping barrels that are filled on Teddington Lock island.

So if you like mucking about on boats then this is the task for you. Sign up if you can.

We will meet at The Quaker Centre at 6.30pm for a 3km run to Teddington Lock to meet the boat. Please use the What3Words: //glitz.rear.crew for the boat’s location. The nearest free parking is: Riverside Drive, Ham – it’s a short walk from the road to the boat.

If you are meeting us at the task then please come for 7pm.

Hi Rachel...I've signed up to my first run on Tuesday and am looking forward to it. I'll be in the office and getting there on time will be depending on trains running, which aren't always reliable. Just want to check it's OK if they let me down and I end up missing it or if you'd prefer people only sign up if they will definitely make it? Looks like you have enough people for this one but don't want to make a bad first impression! Thank you.

Hi David, thanks for your message! If you can’t make it then just deregister before the task so we know who is coming! Otherwise we’ll be looking out for you. Looking forward to the task - first time helping them - looks really fun. Hopefully the trains are all on time
