Spring Clean Up at the Barnes Common Community Growing Project

Barnes Common Limited are a local conservation and education charity looking after Barnes Common, Leg o’ Mutton Local Nature Reserve and other local green spaces. Based at Vine Road Recreation Ground, they lead a Community Growing Project growing food using organic and regenerative processes. They engage volunteers from local organisations and groups as well as individuals and of all ages and abilities. Every week they harvest food and donate boxes to the local food bank, benefiting 4-5 families.

They have asked for our help with an spring tidy up. No experience is necessary and this is a great task to join for your first time. We will meet at the task so you can choose the best mode of transport that suits you. We have all the tools and equipment needed at the project, including gardening gloves, so everyone will just need to wear suitable clothing and footwear for the weather. There are toilets on site, and there is a cafe who sell half price drinks for any volunteers taking part in the session.

Please wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty, along with sturdy footwear and be ready for whatever the weather brings that day! A water bottle is recommended.
