This week we’ll be returning to help out at the Independent Newham Users’ Forum (INUF) – a user-led mental health charity based in Stratford.
INUF supports people living with mental health challenges in the borough of Newham. Their community hub at Ithaca House hosts a wide range of wellbeing activities including drop-ins, yoga, art, dance and other sessions that help people connect, express themselves and thrive.
The garden space provides a safe, calming environment that supports wellbeing, social connection and therapeutic activities, and tidying it will make it more accessible and enjoyable for everyone who uses it.
Tasks are likely to include:
- Weeding beds and borders
- Clearing fallen leaves and debris
- Pruning overgrown plants
- Tidying pathways
- Preparing planting areas
Everyone is welcome to join - no previous experience is required and all tools and instructions will be provided.
How to join
There are two ways to join:
Option 1 – Run from the Freaks & Geeks (sign-up above)
We’ll leave together at 18:45 to run to the task - we may take a scenic route through West Ham park!Option 2 – Meet at the task
Meet us directly at Ithaca House at 19:00.
Whichever option you choose, we’ll spend around an hour helping in the garden. Come along for some fresh air, teamwork and the chance to make a real difference to a community space. 🌱
How are you getting there?

Sorry to cancel this evening's task - our hosts at INUF are concerned that the rain will have made surfaces unsafe for the clear up work and tree cutting that we were going to be doing. We'll get something scheduled in for a few weeks time!
