Maidenhead Waterways
The Maidenehead Waterways Project aims to restore and enlarge channels through the town centre into an accessible waterway that everyone can enjoy, whether for boating, walking, cycling, fishing or appreciating nature.

Please help us to clear plastic and other rubbish from York Stream in Maidenhead. We will be working in our maintenance boat, on the banks and in canoes to take away the floating plastic and litter from the river. Wear clothing suitable for working outdoors, including sturdy footwear. Tools including rakes, litter grabbers, gloves and plastic bags will be provided. Feel free to bring your own canoe and kayak or inflatable if you have one. Buoyancy aids recommended. Meet 0930 on our boat platform beside Bakedd at 1a High Street Maidenhead, SL6 1JN for a safety briefing. We will then work in teams removing litter. This event is planned together with Paddle UK's Big Paddle Clean Up and Thames 21's PlasticBlitz. At the end we will sort and count the plastic to provide data for PlasticBlitz. Then dispose of it.
