Shout out to Liz for coming up with the pun! I hope it's a reference to our military precision, rather than me being a bossy dictator during the task!
An excellent group of GoodGymers met on a Saturday afternoon to clear away gazebos after a charity fundraiser in Stoke Newington. Abney Park Trust hosted an Autumn Fayre to fundraise for the activities in the park, and after a busy day needed some help packing down the twelve gazebos.
Liz, Latoya, Frank and Eva were just deconstructing the first gazebo when we bumped into Emily who happened to be walking in the park. As a fellow GoodGymer and big fan of Abney, she jumped in to join us on the mission and help with the task!
The team soon stepped into a good system for gazebo clearance, with twelve gazebos all packed up and put away within an hour!
For all of the GoodGymers it was their second mission of the day, so when the Abney team bought out some cakes from the cake stall, it was a welcome treat!

Five GoodGymers met on a clear Saturday in Stoke Newington to help prepare for a charity fundraiser.
Abney Park Trust run an annual Autumn Fayre, with lots of stalls, food outlets and activities for kids, to help fundraise for their activities in the park. The Abney team had lots to get ready before the big day, so asked GoodGym along to help set up the gazebos so they could get on with the main event.
The five GoodGymers soon set to work pitching the twelve gazebos for the craft and food stalls. Most of them were fairly simple pop-up models, which we soon became experts at setting up. Then came the challenge - two pole gazebos in a box with no instructions! Frank, Amanda and Peter used their best logic skills to solve the puzzle and soon it was perfectly pitched.
Once all the gazebos were up, they laid out chairs and tables for all the stalls. After a couple of hours, everything was ready for the stall holders to come in and set up their stalls for the fair.
The group were then rewarded for their early start by a delicious breakfast of fruit, pastries and juices.
It was a great event, and raised hundreds of pounds for Abney. Thanks everyone for your help.
