Super cute baby clothes folding time!
We were watching the rain this afternoon wondering if we could actually get to the baby bank as reports of traffic and floods poured in (geddit)!:) But the rain stopped and through wonder of feet and bike three of us managed to get to the Cornerstone church without being stuck on the road.
On arrival Adam, who volunteers at the baby bank, had everything setout for us already and explained what needed to be done. Charlotte sprinted to the session so needed a nice cuppa to recover before starting - thankfully there were also biscuits available!!!!
We each had a 'station' where we unpacked bags of donations and folded them before organising them by age (mostly 0-3months) before these were packed and labeled. We got a lot done despite two late unsign ups but plenty was still left to finish! Next time!
This was such a fun session and we just couldn't stop admiring the cutest wear that was donated - including a full 'posh baby' set that was just adorable!

Always a pleasure to help a local organisation/ group with spreading their good work out to the larger community. The quality of the donations received is of Very high Standards indeed, having done a few sorting group task there in the past. Having picked up my bundle of leaflets a day or so previously, I set about my "postie Letter-Box Trials" in double quick time. I must say, the fact that leafleting "was" timed to co-inside perfectly with the school run helped spreading the word out to opened palms rather than closed letter boxes...

This was a tale of two groups coming together - one group that included Pippa, Ramon, Julia and Saj (who met us mid-run) met at the usual base to catch-up and wait for others to arrive. We started with a small warmup and then took a very flat direct route to Leytonstone - it was a very nice evening with minimum cars on quiet roads so time went very quickly and we arrived at the Cornerstone church in no time where we met the second group (Amarjit, Tony and Helen) that came directly to the 'do good' part of the evening.
Our lovely hosts Lindsey and Sophie met us and showed us inside where they kindly prepared some water and sweets for us:) They then explained what needed to be done and we got on with it. It was such a nice way to spend this time on Wednesday evening - great opportunity to catch-up with fellow goodgymmers and hear what's everyone been up to, sort super-cute baby clothes to make sure that only the best gets donated.
Time went super quickly!!!! So the running crew left to jog back to Walthamstow whilst the rest of folks carried on helping out to make it into a full community mission.
Great job everyone - always a pleasure to see our community come together like this on Wednesday. See you next week for the next session - sign up here.

Ignoring the comforts of a warm home and a list of things to do, Sarah tore herself away from the computer screen and made her way down cold & damp streets to meet me at the Cornerstone Church to help deliver some more leaflets helping the Baby Bank promote their mum & baby meetings.
As before, the lovely vicar Bill happily provided us with leaflets and also shared the news that some of the new faces attending last week heard about the meeting through the leaflets delivered - exactly the reason why we are happy to help.
Having verified maps, we set off to cover another couple of streets, finishing off the top part of the map. This leaves just a couple of roads at the bottom. Target streets done, a smiling Sarah posed for a pic and we set off home, dropping off left-over leaflets on the way back.
