GoodGym x The Big Help Out x junior parkrun 👟🦺🌳

Sunday 7th June

Written by Natasha

*This weekend marked the UK's biggest volunteering weekend - the Big Help Out 2026 💪🏻 *

Us GoodGymmers did our bit for this and helped out at junior parkrun on this lovely sunny Sunday ☀️. The three of us - myself, Leanne and Ella met at Christchurch park, where we were greeted by the parkrun team who gave us our high vis to marshal on the course 🌳. There were lots of us volunteers this morning which was great to see and a whole lot of runners! Enjoyed marshalling & cheering them all on 🥳

Big shoutout to Ella for completing her first GoodGym mission! Welcome to the GoodGym family ❤

Not quite Park Run in the sun but marshalling done

Saturday 15th July 2023

Written by Natalie (she/her )

4 Goodgymers made their way to Ipswich Park Run this morning to cheer on all the runners.

Scattered across the route, Paul, Karl and Natalie whooped, cheered and clapped as the participants made their way around the 5km. Strategically placed at the top of one of the inclines early on, Karl and Natalie were keen to encourage 'from the top'. Great to see Nicola too, flying the flag for GoodGym as an all-important tail walker!

A good 200 people made their way around the course, no doubt grateful that yesterday's biblical ran didn't return. Paul had felt the full force of it yesterday when he had marshalled for another running event in Ipswich - what a hero!

Give a GoodGymer a lanyard and hi-vis.... High spirits and high-fives as 200 runners take on Chantry Park

Saturday 11th March 2023

Written by Natalie (she/her )

Chantry Park was flooded with runners on Saturday who refused to let the cold weather and first put them off their Park. GoodGymer Natalie was there marshalling, covering three points on the 5km route. Two were at the top of some tough hills so extra claps and supporting shouts were given.

Walkers, runners, families, dogs... all completed the course in fine form. A wonderful group of dedicated volunteers give their time each week to take this event happen so it was a pleasure to be a part of it.

Look out for a GoodGym takeover of Ipswich Park Run coming soon.
