7 tuneful Goodgymmers danced to the Leyla's beat at Living Under One Sun as they lend a hand tonight to make the green outside the cafe safe for guests.
Kudos Corner
Big up for for Kristina and Priyen who were joining us for their first task in a while. They were natural-born-Goodgymmers and eased their way back into it with skill and aplomb. Absolute heroes - please come back again!
The Plot Stickens
Under the constant threat of diluvial downpours, our Goodgymmers made their way, running and walking, to Living Under One Sun where Leyla and the team were waiting for us with open arms and a multitude of tasks.
Luos are hosting a big community party this weekend and the great outside the cafe was looking a little bit worse for wear already. So we were entrusted with giving it a nice facelift and that is what we did.
We cleared the pile upon pile of fallen leaves from the pathways, unrolled and tidied away unruly hoses, cleared the green of sticks (trip hazards), pulled weeds to our hearts content, and helped Leyla put away the plants that will be given away this weekend to encourage neighbours to transform their balconies into micro-gardens.
All the while, Latino-tinged music blasted from the speakers and we danced the night away and before we knew, it was time to go home.
We took some photos and devoured the wonderful spread that the team kindly put out for us. And we headed out into the night, dry as a bone and with the satisfaction of a good job well done!
Join us again next week for more fun....

It was just the two of us at Living Under One Sun this evening, but Nurjehan and Charlie got stuck in clearing up a little alley way next to a planter.
First, we removed leaves and rubbish from the walk way and put them in bin bags. Then, we untangled and moved pots containing climbing plants from the fence to take a look at the wooden planter underneath.
This will allow the Saturday morning gardening club to access the planter and plant those climbing plants straight into the planter giving the plants more room to grow!
We then moved some tables and chairs and tidied up and put away the tools and wheelbarrows that Leyla and Mark had got out for us. Moving those wheelbarrows was tiring work!! 😜
Before a nice walk home in the drizzle, lovely Leyla gifted us with some bananas and a chocolate and raisin mix pack to share. Though one goodgymer (I won’t name who…) ate all the chocolates, leaving Charlie with just the raisins!

4 lovely GoodGymers made their way to Living Under One Sun ready for an evening of gardening. We arrived, however, to be faced with a very secure lock with no one home at our task!
Although not quite as we planned, we donned our gloves and picked up a bit of litter around the entrance to the centre. We still had a lovely evening seeing each other, a pleasant run and walk, and some tasty valentines chocolates before heading home.

7 Goodgymmers made their way to lend Leyla at Living Under One Sun a hand in sorting out their external storage area.
The 'everybody make some noooooiiiise' corner
Dr Niamh is a shy and quiet member of the team, blink and you'll miss her. check notes Oh, no, wait, it says here that she's actually one of the naughtiest members of the squad and you'll know you're doing a task with her because the laughter will drift across site at about 10lpms (laughs per minute). And last night she laughed her way through her 100th Good Deed with GGH. Hero! We're so lucky to have you.
Also worthy of celebration is the fact that Julie joined us for a mid-week task on the back of completing 10 marathons in 10 days. I guess she just felt like running. Let us not speak of the fact that she was more nimble on her feet than a few of her GG colleagues. Rock star!
Shed Zeppelin
Gramps may or may have not spent a summer in the mid 90's fiddling with old records to test the ancient urban legend that if you play Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven backwards, you can hear all sorts of weird lyrics about Satan and spooky shenanigans in a little tool shed. Well, luckily, you don't have to read this paragraph backwards to find out that some spooky shenanigans did indeed take place in a little tool shed in Tottenham last night as we helped Layla sort out the external storage areas at Living Under One Sun.
Having organically formed a human chain, our Goodgymers made quick work of emptying the little tool shed and lining up the contents on the field. Along with Leyla, we then did a very loose inventory check of things that were good to keep, things that needed a bit of repairing, and things that needed to go in the bin. This was the only time in the whole evening's proceedings where the effects of Julie's heroic running feats reared their head. You see, Badgym™ extraordinaire and prolific putting-people-in-binner Julie didn't even suggest we put any of her colleagues in a bin at this point. I guess she was tired and human after all. :)
Speaking of bins, at this juncture a second team splintered off and was sent on their way by Leyla with very loose instructions and a lack of black bags to sort out the bin storage area. Shenanigans ensued. While Charlie and John took the job seriously. Centurion Niamh and Alex spent a good few minutes trading jokes about wood and whatnot. Having eventually secured a steady source of bin liners, our team ended up doing a great job.
Finally, Sarah and Julie put away in the tool shed all the things that were salvageable - but not before Julie had felt like her old self again and climbed into a cage for sheds and giggles. Badgym™ Represent!
We then celebrated our Niamh with a card, some toys, and vegan fruitcakes before Leyla cracked open the hardcore stuff: the sweetest pecan pie Gramps has ever tasted. Incredible.
We then said our goodbyes but not before Leyla sent us on our way with bags of fresh mushrooms.
A good night.
Join us next week for more fun and games.

11 Goodgymmers congregated to share oranges and puns as they lent a hand at LUOS.
BOOM Corner!
Let me hear a Woop Woop for Neil who smashed his 50th Goodgym task tonight. He didn't even mention that the crown we gave him to celebrate the achievement had been broken in half by an unnamed area activator. A class act, as always.
Also, kudos to Charlie who for a second week running has come up with a cracking pun for the report's title. It was a night of a thousand puns so to claim the top prize again is impressive.
You Made A Beleafer Out Of Me
Three things are certain in life: death, taxes, and Leyla at LUOS greeting you with a lovely warm smile and the promise of the world's sweetest oranges.
Tonight it was no different as Leyla welcomed us with open arms and enough leaves needing clearing to fill a small nation.
In order to get to this mound of leaves, we had to move some old tables out of the way and our Goodgymmers leapt into action. As the tables were being moved, a sub-team started raking and punnning. In the meantime, another sub-team made up of... erm.. just Dave cleared some cardboard boxes from the compost heap so we could pile up some of the leaves there.
It was an action-packed evening.
As the team worked tirelessly, Gramps had come up with yet another needlessly intricate set up for a group photo shoot and as usual, not a single Goodgymmer batted an eye when the suggestion came. Our trainee psychotherapist better hurry up and qualify because this group really seems to need some professional help!
Afterwards we all started to make our way home, not before we ate some of the wonderful aforementioned oranges and Gramps managed to also nearly break a ping pong table.
Action-packed evening indeed.
Come and join us next week as Charlie aims to complete a pun report title hat trick - fun and games guaranteed!

Eight brilliant GoodGymers headed over to the lovely Living Under One Sun to help them prepare for a community event for local families this weekend.
We met up in Down Lane Park where Niamh gave some of us a workout session involving sit-ups, burpees, and an exercise that had a name like “scotch eggs” (squats with a jump).
Then we got to work, moving tables and setting up two big green gazebos - it was in-tents! We positioned weights to hold down each of the legs to stop the gazebos blowing away before they are needed this Saturday. To finish up, we set up tables and chairs under the tents to make the perfect place to enjoy food together.
Before heading home, we were treated in true LUOS style and ate some blood (oranges) and took some photos. After a satisfying task we all left happy. At least I think it was due to the task, or maybe it was just due to the gazebo effect...
