Sol, Georgeta and Sheila joined taskowner Sue at the Community Allotment. Not surprisingly lots of watering was required, which Georgeta and Sheila took on, whilst setting the hose to fill up the water butts. Meanwhile Sol took on the heroic task of emptying the bags of horse manure into the manure bay. The hot weather meant they were extremely stinky! Sol and Sue then planted some tomatoes in soil and some more-mature manure, and followed up with planting some spare raspberry canes. A good evening's work!

Sarah and Sheila took on watering at the allotment on the hottest day of the year so far. We filled the water butts, whilst filling our watering cans and giving all those thirsty fruit and veg a good old drink

Rosie and Sol joined Sue at the community allotment for the next batch of tasks.
this time we emptied two large vegetable beds of previous soil and filled up with the fresh soil and horse manure.
Afterwards we planted tomatoes from their seed beds into larger pots.
Fluffy, the local robin, kept an eye on us, and we rewarded him with may-beetle worms. lot of protein for him.

Five GoodGymers met at the community allotment on a sunny evening to help with some jobs, joining taskowner Sue. Georgeta took on the task of doing all the watering, both in the greenhouse and all the beds outside. The rest of the team constructed a structure from canes to support the climbing beans. Then came the exciting bit of planting the beans, with Sol demonstrating her special technique for tying in the beans. All whilst being watched by the distinctive Robin with ruffled feathers, who took the opportunity to feast on some tasty treats from the disturbed earth. A great job by Georgeta, Rachel, Sol, Meggie and Sheila to get their weekends off to a great start

Georgeta, Ed and Sheila gathered at the community allotment on a very sunny evening. The plants in the greenhouse were completely dehydrated, so Georgeta took on the task of doing all the watering, and she continued watering all the outside beds too. Ed and Sheila added horse manure to a raised bed and erected a wigwam from canes. Then it was time to plant the climbing beans, tie them in and give them a good water. The last job of the day was to add some manure to an empty bed, and Ed then did a great job in delivering the heavy bags of topsoil to spread on the top. A lucky Robin was spotted feasting on the beautiful worms from the manure, who we named Mrs Fluffy as she(?) has some distinctive fluffy feathers on her back. Thanks to Georgeta for the beautiful photo of Mrs Fluffy

Sheila and Rosie put out a call to see if anyone could come and help with transplanting seedlings at the community allotment. We were delighted to be joined by another 5 GoodGymers. We were pleased to welcome Deepti to her very first GoodGym session. We constructed a makeshift workbench on one of the raised beds using some spare board, gathered some planting modules donated by Sheila, Juli and Rosie, and found some top soil to use. We set to work transplanting tomatoes, beans, peas, nasturtiums and parsley. A robin came to visit, hoping to find a tasty morsel. The odd rain shower sent us scurrying for shelter in the greenhouse, and in the end rain stopped play, but not before we had transplanted and watered most of the seedlings. A great team effort
