Christine and Sheila went to the Community Allotments this evening. First task was to fill the water butts with the hose. Meanwhile we watered all the crops with watering cans. We also had a bit of time to do some pruning of the tomato side shoots and harvested some beetroot. We ended up with a set of full water butts, ready for all the watering which will need to be done this week.

This task supported

The Maidenhead Community Allotment is run by a group of volunteers, who grow food to share with local residents, the users of the Boyn Grove Community and Resource Centre and Maidenhead Foodshare. They work with Men in Sheds, who are based on the same site. Men in Sheds is an initiative to combat loneliness by providing a space for men to connect and chat over practical tasks.
