This week we were back in Newtown to help finish the wonderful bug hotel. Our task this week was to fit the new roof, kindly made by Men In Sheds! The before and after pictures from our previous task shows just how great it looks! We also had the chance to put up sole more wire for raspberries at the same time!

This week the 4 of us were back in Newton carrying on the work on the bug hotel. It was mainly about prep work tonight, making sure pallets were cut down ready to build a roof. We'll be back soon to finish the hammering and fixing!

This week we were back in Newtown, doing more work with the local community group in re-claiming green space. Our goal this week was to create the basics of a bug hotel, ready for local school children to fill with materials.
We sized up the pallets, created a mock hotel, then moved it all to the permanent area to assemble and secure.
Always a fun task when you can see the results of your work, a solid frame now stands ready for the next steps! We'll be back next week to build and fit the roof!

Lucy and Jo met with local Newtown community leader, Debbie, to help clear a green space ready for the community to spruce up and make better use of. We gathered fallen branches to make log pile habits and chopped Xmas trees to mulch down. It might have been the affect of the full moon, but we had a quick 'Fred Astaire' singing in the rain moment!!

Tonight the superb 7 were out doing good for Newtown Gardeners, helping transform a green area.
A massive welcome and thank you to Ananda, Kimberley and Barry, who all joined us for the first time tonight. We loved meeting you and we hoped you enjoyed the session. Lovely to see a bit of GoodGym tourism too, a big hello toSally.
Our tasks were to dig and create areas for bulbs to be planted and to wire a fence ready for raspberry planting , the group smashed both out in a hour. Tonights pun inspired by Kimberly, and her pizza style digging!
