What a load of rubbish, we said as we walked up the steps with our bin bags and litter pickers. This was today’s task on a surprisingly warm morning. There were no sheep but three bags full of rubbish were collected. After an hour we called time.
Until next time…

Another great start to the weekend with a double deed, starting up at the Northern Slopes.
Janka and myself tackled the scything whilst Frances did a stellar job with litter picking.
Thanks for attending everyone!

Fresh sunny start to the weekend on our July visit to the slopes! We saw the return of Alex, who has helped out here many times in the past, and he brought additional help in the form of his partner, who's name I have shamefully forgotten(sorry!)
Usual tasks, but a change up on roles. I've done my knee in, so Janka stepped in and showed us real girl power with the scythe! She did a fantastic job keeping back the vegetation, while others managed to clears loads of litter from the area. I lopped the pathway through of overreaching brambles. Everything looks much nicer now.
Top work everyone! See you next time!

OVERGROWN!!!!!
The crazy mix of sunshine and showers lately has meant the Northern Slopes has become quite overgrown. This meant our job today involved a lot of snipping. Armed with shears and things that were almost shears we set to work. There was also the usual build up of cider cans and other paraphernalia that Emma set to work clearing with great gusto.
After an hour we called time and downed tools. Just time for a freddo or a rocky road before making our way. A lovely morning à la carte.
Until next time…

We were down the bottom this time at the slopes, but I managed to get a snap of 1 month on from our previous visit. Lovely to see so much life in the area.
This months task was to venture into some new territory. Historically a fly tipping spot, the NSI want to have a new meadow here too. First things first, pull out all the crap! Wood, bags, bikes, you name it, we pulled it out for collection. I'm sure we'll be back to this spot for future work too.
Cheers to Dave and Emma for coming along!

Lovely sunny day up at the slopes, and no better way to get energised on a Saturday morning like a good old clear up around the slopes. The crew split out to tackle litter picking and loppering, while I showed Jordan the ropes for scything. It was his first time there, and like a champion, he picked it up extremely well, making quick work of clearing the meadow for fresh wild flowers to grow.
We could also see last months efforts starting to sprout through, this will be blossoming in no time.
Quick clean up and tool drop and we were off to the next task down at the berry maze! Thanks for coming everyone!
