This week 4 GoodGymers were back in the Newtown area, assisting in the prep of a new mural wall.

After a short run, thankfully dodging the rain, we set to task in wire-brushing the old mural that had been there since 1975.

We were joined by painter Pete, who we've supported for a few years at various tasks, Pat from the Secret Garden and Loop who owns the wall - we all joined in and worked together, having a good chat and a cuppa as we worked. Pete was kind to write the group a poem, and Pat brought belated Christmas celebrations, a fun night had by all for sure.

We also had a GoodGym tourist with us, a massive thank you to Jack, joining us from our central team in London!

A final thrill for us this evening, we had an ITV reporter with us at the session - filming and interviewing for a national news piece on GoodGym due to be coming out soon! Big thanks to Lucy R and Jack for doing the interviews!

Tonight we were back at the Secret Garden to help with a spot of weeding - making the public pathways and steps safer from slips. Even though the rain came, it was still great to have daylight at a task!

Tonight the 4 of us were back at Newtown Secret Garden, painting some outside furniture and a doing a spot of weeding. We were joined by the local cat Sasha and a new resident, a frog/toad (jury's out as to what it is!)

On this spooky Halloween evening we were back at the secret garden - our main task rained off but we still gave a place a good tidy.

We cleared the stairs and walkways of leaves, making it safer for people to walk on without slipping. A small deed but one that usually makes a bug difference in enabling people to leave the house

Our task this week was back with our long term friends at the Secret Garden, helping with some painting tasks and a bit of weeding.

Issy and Lawrence focused on painting the bear paw prints, Lucy and I tackled the gate, and task owner Pat did the hand rail. We made such a huge difference to the area, it looks amazing and certainly adds some colour and character.

A special treat was being joined by both the Vixen and the Fox, both of with the community group help medicate to make sure they stay healthy.

Today we were back helping Newtown Secret Garden sand a wall ready for painting. An extremely good arm workout, we cleared away all of the flaky paint ready for the artist next week. We've been offered to paint a little GoodGym flower onto the new wall, cant wait to see it!
