5 GoodGymers got lots of extra steps in and had a great time helping Westbank leaflet about an important community event in Exminster
It was a blustery weekend with changeable weather but nothing could stop the 5 GoodGymers who stepped up to this last minute Community Mission! Such keen beans getting involved with this important task, spreading the word in Exminster about a very important community event organised by Westbank.
Kudos points to Nic who came all the way from Exeter to help out! Also to Anna who got one of her lovely four-legged friends involved with this task and finally a big shout out to Sarah who got stuck in and also did a fab run today, just 7 days after she had completed the Virtual London Marathon!
You guys are just the best and can't wait to see you all soon again for some more running and doing good!

Schools are back for the younger ones and this week 2 runners delivered some very unique wooden plane kits to Exminster Primary School, giving the children something really special to play with.
A big thank you to the very kind woodwork teacher who had made these lovely plane kits and a big shout out to Vicky (our very own GG Strava queen) from the Westbank who arranged for the kits to be delivered to Exminster School. I got the easy job myself of just running with them to the school, a very enjoyable run! We hope the children really enjoy the planes!
Next week we have some great Community Missions coming up, litter-picking in St Thomas! Can't wait to see our lovely team then!

This was out second Community Mission this week getting RAMMuseum activity packs delivered to shielding families! AMAZING work team!
It's been a blustery week with lots of heavy downpours here in Exeter but nothing could stop our super keen GoodGymers from getting fit whilst doing good! We had a fantastic collections of runs, walks and bike rides to get the pack delivered to different families all over Exeter and Exminster.
All deliveries where carried out in a safe way, following the government's current guidelines. In total we had 7 GoodGymers involved in this task, but all runners did their deliveries in solo sessions and at no time where all runners gathered together in a big group.
Lucy and Jo clocked some pretty impressive bike rides to do their deliveries, Florence ran all over St Thomas and the very hilly Exwick for hers and Sarah struggled through a huge rain storm. Fantastic effort!
A huge thank you to RAMM who put together these packs, Exeter Wellbeing who contacted us to see if we could help out with the delivery and to the Westbank who helped us find the families who can benefit from the packs!
Next week we are heading out again, this time to do a litterpick in Wonford. I can't wait to see you then!

I can’t tell you how happy it made me to see you guys being back getting stuck in with a brilliant gardening project!
The Westbank has supported hundreds of families during the Covid outbreak and we couldn’t be more happy to do a little good deed for them, tidying up their remembrance garden.
We were six in total, who worked with safe space between us at all times, wearing our own gloves and using our own tools. The difference in the remembrance garden was massive just after an hour of us getting stuck in! All weeds were removed and tidies away and the flowers growing in the flower beds were made visible again. Great work team! I can't wait to see you soon again for more running and doing good!

A huge thank you to RAMM who put together these packs, Exeter Wellbeing who contacted us to see if we could help out with the delivery and to Westbank who helped us find homes for the packs. Such good work by all!

Two GoodGym runners (well, a runner and a cyclist) spent the afternoon with people who attend an Exeter charity's social groups. Rachel, who spent her lunch hour running to and volunteering at the event, and Pete, who cycled in on a day off, were were joined by Vicky and Laura who already work with Westbank AND take part in GoodGym (Santa will definitely bring them a sleigh-load of presents, surely). Westbank, based in Exminster, provides care and promotes health to communities across Devon and beyond.
Westbank were hosting a Christmas party for more than 40 people who participate in their regular social groups and activities such as the memory cafes, which offer peer support, advice, information for people with memory problems and their carers.
We socialised with the guests and got them settled in, helped to serve food and drinks (of course we had a bit ourselves - thank you to the kitchen staff!), and cleared away after the event finished.
It was a really way to help people celebrate Christmas with great food, drink and company! It was also great to work with and chat to volunteers and staff at Westbank.
