๐ฟ๐ Our mission, should we choose to accept it (we did, obviously โ weโre GoodGym): help the wonderful Annick at the Brixton Waterworks allotments tackle a carpet situation.
*Shoutout to Adam for weaving his magic and nailing this week's pun title!
Yes. Carpet. In the soil. Apparently the weed barrier of choice for a certain era of allotment gardening was โjust bury some carpet and hope for the best.โ ๐ Well, that carpetโs time was UP.
The team got stuck in โ pulling, heaving, rolling, folding, and wheelbarrowing that ancient carpet to its temporary resting place like the absolute legends we are. โค๏ธ It was gritty, it was grimy, it was extremely satisfying. The carpets may be old and worn, but our team? Totally on the right thread. ๐งต๐
We split into two crack squads: the running crew โ AA, Katie (an ICONIC comeback after injury, we literally cannot ๐), and Michael (โjust a casual 16km at the weekend, no biggieโ ๐ค๐ฅ) โ and the walkers/cyclists Tilly, Ben, Nehal, Marie-Noelle and Adam, who were honestly bringing the vibes on wheels and heels. ๐ดโโ๏ธ๐ถโโ๏ธ
Annick was thrilled, the allotment is one step closer to full bloom, and we went home absolutely filthy and absolutely proud. ๐ฑ๐คฉ
See you next week at The Landor โ first round of brags about your weekend mileage is on you, Michael. ๐ ๐ป
Run, do good, repeat. ๐โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ

Another Tuesday, another band of Lambeth legends proving that the only thing we love more than a good run is getting so mulch done for the community. ๐ช๐ผโจ
Our superstar squad rolled out from Papa's in fine form โ AA, Michael, Dan & Jo lacing up and hitting the tarmac on foot, while Fi, Katie, Nehal and Adam rolled deep on wheels and wellies (well, approximately). The vibes? Immaculate. The chat? Flowing faster than we were. ๐พ๐
Our mission this evening took us to the wonderful Agnes Riley Gardens, where the brilliant Jo from Friends of Agnes Riley and Tom from Lambeth Parks had a job for us: spread woodchip along the hedges to give the freshly planted whips the best possible start to the new season. ๐ฑ Think of it as tucking the baby trees in for spring. Cosy! ๐ค
And did we chip in? Oh, we chipped in HARD. The team shovelled, narrowed and spread that woodchip with the kind of efficiency that would make a professional landscaper weep with pride โ job done in no time, leaving us the very important task of... standing around a pond staring at newts. ๐ฆโค๏ธ And honestly? Absolutely worth it. The pond was JUMPING (well, crawling, they're newts) with wildlife and we are not ashamed to say we were absolutely giddy about it.
๐ SPECIAL SHOUTOUT ๐
A massive welcome to Nehal, who joined us for her very first Group Run tonight! Having already dipped her toes in with Community Missions alongside Katie, Nehal is clearly committed to the GoodGym life โ and we are SO here for it. Welcome to the madness, we love having newt members of the team. ๐ฑ๐คฉ
Until next time, Lambeth โ keep running, keep giving, and for the love of all things good, keep spreading the chip. ๐ฟ๐โโ๏ธ๐
Wed 18th Mar at 2:10pm
Very warm people and a good job by everyone!

GoodGym Lambeth Run Report ๐โโ๏ธ๐จ Four the Love of the Planet! ๐
Well, well, wellโฆ what do we have here? Not ONE, not TWO, not THREE, but FOUR shiny new faces joining the GoodGym Lambeth crew this week! ๐
Thatโs right โ we didnโt just pick up litter, we picked up people too. Welcome to the fold, Treena, Paul, Dann & Kirsty, who clearly decided that finishing a long shift at work just wasnโt quite enough suffering for one day. Respect. ๐ช๐ผ๐พ
The Task: Not a Twozy. Not Even a Threezyโฆ Wait, Actually Yes a Threezy. ๐๏ธ This weekโs mission was an absolute trash of a good time (in the best possible way).
We went full triple-threat with: ๐บ๏ธ GoodGym classic litter picking ๐ Planet Patrol ๐งด The Big Plastic Count The goal? Grab as much recycling and plastic as humanly possible and give our community a well-deserved glow-up. And boy, did we deliver.
Several black bags filled to the brim and safely recycled โ thatโs not just good deeds, thatโs re-MARK-able work. You could say we really bagged this one. ๐ฑ๐คฉ
The planet is cleaner, our legs are tired, and our hearts are full. See you next week โ and Treena, Paul, Dann & Kirsty, youโve got no excuses now. You already know weโre worth the post-work schlep! ๐โค๏ธ
Keep running. Keep doing good. Try not to step in anything suspicious. ๐ซกโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ

GoodGym Lambeth | Run Report ๐ฟ๐๐ Leaf It To Us!
Well, well, well โ our magnificent mob of do-gooding runners were out in full force this week, descending on the streets of Lambeth like a very fit, very enthusiastic swarm of locusts. (Sorry Dan, we know, we know โ new start point, new us. Change is growth! ๐ฑ)
The vibes? Immaculate. The chat? Absolutely flowing. The pace? Fast enough to feel smug, slow enough to finish a sentence. ๐ฌโจ
The Task ๐ This week we headed over to The Lunch Club Streatham at their Woodlawns site, where nature had โ shall we say โ gone a bit feral. Leaves, twigs, fallen branches: the full autumnal chaos package. Our mission was to wrestle the outdoor space into shape ahead of an exciting planting project and lunch service when the warmer weather finally stops being so shy. โ๏ธ๐ค
And wrestle we did. No leaf was left unturned (literally), no branch left unstowed. By the end, we had: ๐๏ธ 10+ bulging bin bags filled and destined for composting ๐ฎ Litter picked to within an inch of its life ๐ชต Branches stashed ready for a future task โ because the fun never stops! The outdoor space is looking twig-mendously better. Weโre not saying weโre heroes, butโฆ the evidence speaks for itself. ๐ฆธ
The Shoutouts ๐ ๐ Ben โ massive birthday shoutout incoming! The big day is TOMORROW, which means tonightโs run was basically his pre-birthday workout. Iconic behaviour. Many happy returns, Ben!
๐ด Adam โ joined us for his very first GoodGym run! Usually found terrorising the streets on two wheels, tonight he used his actual legs like the rest of us. Welcome to the fold, Adam โ weโve got a feeling the bike might get a bit jealous. ๐
๐ฏ Michael โ brace yourselvesโฆ Michael has just hit 100 months of GoodGym. ONE HUNDRED. Thatโs over 8 years of showing up, doing good, and being generally wonderful. We are not worthy. ๐๐ฑ๐คฉ
See you all next week โ same do-gooders, different start point (sorry again Dan ๐).โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ

Lambeth Report written by Yianny (he / him)
On a mild Lambeth evening, our GoodGym superstars turned up in gooseberry great numbers for a task that was truly berry satisfying. ๐ช๐ผ๐พ๐ฟ
Our mission: dig out several gooseberry bushes and relocate them (via barrows!) to the orchard garden behind the church. And honestly? It was completed in no time โ proving once again that many hands make light workโฆ and strong legs make lightly complaining work. ๐ ๐
Now, we canโt confirm there was extra speed in the airโฆ but we may have been powered by the knowledge that an end-of-month social was waiting for us. Motivation? โ Relocation? โ Social-ocation? Also โ ๐ค
Huge thanks to Adam and Nicole, our absolute legends of the evening, who hosted us and did not disappoint: food, drink, and board games aplenty! โค๏ธ๐๐ป๐ฒ (Let it be known: we came to transplant bushes, but we stayed to transplant ourselves into competitive board-game personalities.)
A wonderful time was had by all โ and yes, we definitely got to know each other a LOT better too ๐๐. By the end of the night, weโd also uncovered the true solution to modern lifeโs troubles: a cucumber suit, tequila, salami t-shirts, and a very active โsocial lifeโ. ๐ฅ๐๐น๐ฅ๐
So, to summarise: we moved bushes, moved barrows, and moved straight into chaos (the fun kind). Until next time, Lambeth โ stay berry brilliant! ๐โจ๐
