Lots of litter picking around Lewisham over the last few days. Adi was busy in Sydenham’s Mayow Park, it was grey and dull (but had been stunning earlier in the week!)
Linda had been working hard nearby focusing on the area around her Lower Sydenham home. She recycled lots of cardboard and dealt with abandoned e bikes.
Louise saw lots of snails as she litter picked around a community garden at Valeswood Road on the Downham estate, sorting out a fallen sign whilst she was at it!
Paul was in Deptford’s Brookmill Park where along the River Ravensbourne there was lots of litter from flooding but had the benefit of watching lots of wildlife as he cleared the rubbish.

What a regal looking heron! Thanks Paul for writing the report.

Like everywhere else Lewisham was very wet - so the Adi's session in Sydenham's Mayow Park - the camera stayed inside pockets and the amount of litter wasn't that great. Paul had more mixed conditions on Friday seeing a few minutes of sun in between the showers. About couple of black sacks full were collected alongside the Ravensbourne in Brookmill Park. The rain had seen the herons' nest collapse taking a youngster with in, the parents had had two more babies and were trying to rebuild the nest.
