Leaflet Drop For Sam Beare Hospice
On this cold freezing night 9 GG members met to deliver leaflets for Sam Beare Hospice.
A big welcome to Viktoriia who we met at the volunteer for Woking event while she was there representing another charity. Viktoriia also happened to be a friend of Agathe š
Wayne, Adam, Katie, Alys, Agathe, Kirsty, Nadia, & Rebecca met at Woking leisure center all wrapped up š„¶
It was great seeing Rebecca who walked over to collect some leaflets to deliver, not quite ready to run as of yet after her surgery but not long now š.
After a warm up session by Adam which Quinn also got involved in š¶ we headed out of the park towards Mount Hermon to hit the houses there we split up into two groups one on each side šš»āāļø including the Cul-du-Sacs.
It was so cold even with gloves it was very difficult & Wayne & Adam had shorts on the nutters š®
Unfortunately we did not manage to do as many roads of we had planned due to the weather, but GG members between them will take leaflets and deliver them locally throughout the week and will also be handing them out on the weekend park runs until they have all gone š.

Woking Report written by Woking runner
Winter time approaches, and it is not always possible to find tasks for the team. So this week, we decided to run for the fun of being together in the rain... Adam, Agathe, Alys, Kirsty, Nadia and Anne were joined by Rich, our honorary GoodGymer and photographer extraordinaire!
We had another very special guest: Rocket! Rocket may soon become our GG's mascot, he is so good at running with us. He makes weird noises (sorry, I do not speak dog language) to encourage us to be faster or to keep going up the hills. Thank you Rocket.
Unfortunately, Adam had to stop as his leg was starting to be painful. But instead of running the 7 kms to St John's Village and back, he went to the gym to exercise. We hope your leg gets better soon Adam.
Tonight's route was hilly at different stages, but we managed: it was good practice for Saturday's parkrun in Ottershaw or any other race coming up this month. The rain was appreciated by most of us: it felt cool and refreshing. Not that we want it every time we are out though...
Tomorrow some of us will take part in the event "Working Together For Woking" when we will promote all the benefits GoodGym brings to both the runners and the community. We will report back, no worries!
Will you be joining us on Sunday to support Woking junior parkrun?
In the meantime, happy running to you all.

NEWS
A big congratulations to Wayne who was nominated by his fellow goodgymers for his contribution to GG Woking. His commitment to welcoming newcomers getting them involved straight away and strengthening the social circles within Goodgym Woking šš½.
A big welcome to Sarah who joined us this evening. Sarah had heard of Woking GG from a friend who is also a member of Richmong GG. Great to have you with Woking Sarah š
Tonights 7k run was in support of #thisgirlcan campaign. This initiative aims to address the concerns by calling for a safer and more inclusive experience for all Women when getting active outdoors after dark. Making women feel safer while they carry out the exercise routines. #letsliftthecurfew šš½āāļø
Anne had planned a fantastic 7k route around Woking. We had a great turn out for this initiative. Amongst the 6 ladies we had 2 of Woking GG's 3 Males Wayne & James both run leaders supporting the ladies. It was great to have Agathe join us for her first run šš¼āāļø. It was also great to see regulars Katie, Alys, Kirsty & Nadia.
We all met at Woking leisure center. We welcomed Sarah to the group by carrying out introductions before Anne took us through a fantastic warm up stretching routine šāāļø Switch on our torches and off we went. While running we all got chatting about how running in the darker evenings really does impact womens exercise and how this campaign can highlight this by making men aware of this. šš»āāļø
Nadia mentioned how since joining Goodgym her running has come on leaps & bounds and how much she is enjoing it especially running with a group Agathe also said something similar how running with a group pushes her and makes her want to run, which was great to hear š
Everyone did so well last night especially Sarah & Agathe, & Alys to complete the 7k run. We got back to the leisure center where Anne carried out a cool down post run stretching routine šš½
This Sunday Junior Park Run is on and they are looking fir volunteers to help out.
Have a great rest of the week & keep running š
