Westminster Report written by Joel Wiles
12 Westminster GoodGymers ran 7k to keep our adopted stretch of Little Venice Canal path clear of 15 buckets full of plastics and rubbish.
Cooler conditions were a pleasant surprise the evening as we welcomed a few GG first timers and relative newbies to the Oxford Street mix!
A last shout out for the GoodGym Olympics!! entries close tonight, click here for all information.
We headed 3.5km North West on the not so scenic but most direct route to one of Central London’s nicest waterways. Picking up our grabbers, gloves and buckets ready for action for our special store shed.
Splitting up into little groups we headed off up the Canal path grabbing whatever shouldn’t be there! With a keen eye for plastics we took as much of that out as possible while even removing an old boot from the water, with some tag team Grabbing!!
35 minutes yielded a top return of 15 full buckets filled to the brim which we emptied and zipped away heading back to base at a strong pace!
All back with 7km under our belts, stretched out and happy with a productive task complete!
Next week we will be helping Open Age (🤞🏽) with a painting task!!
See you there
Joel
