Kingston upon Thames Report written by Rachel White
A lovely morning well spent with the Queen's Promenade Friends. They want to restore an Italian style terrace which has been neglected for too long and they needed lots of volunteers to sift through the soil removing the invasive St John's Wort plants and roots. Not a bad plant but it has completely taken over sections.
Jane, Petra, Marie-Noelle and our wonderful new GoodGymer Ana all went to help from 10am. They had made fantastic progress so when I turned up at 11am they had found a stone ledge and removed bucketfuls of weeds.
It was lovely to be by the river and chatting to Stefan, who had contacted us to help, we found out more about their plans to keep weeding and then plant a beautiful garden when the time was right.
Lots to do - we'll be happy to help in the future.

Ana earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Ana completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Ana was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Kingston upon Thames Report written by Rachel White
Our task at the Queen's Promenade got cancelled due to the weather so I challenged the attendees to go for a litter pick instead. Tiger the dog gets a special mention for being a cute mascot for GoodGym Kingston. Look at her adorable little face and such good company for Jen on her litter pick down the Thames Path. Jassy and her husband went to Kingston Road Rec and took the liberty of zooming along on the zip wire to deliver the rubbish to the nearest bin. Gemma and Dave took the kids to Canbury Park and cleaned up by the river and collected 4 bags of rubbish. Rachel and Liz took litter pickers to their exercise class and did a lap of Elm Park, which looked much better than the week before. Must keep up the good work and do this weekly - really does make a big difference.
Send any more photos of your litter pick to rachelwhite@goodgym.org and they will be uploaded to this run report.
