Haringey Report written by Pennie Varvarides
This week 11 wonderful GoodGym-ers ran 2km to clear litter from the nearby green
The plan was originally to help at an allotment, but due to unforseen circumstances they couldn't use us this evening.
Plan B was to strip paint at Kori, but the tools were not in my bag, so we moved on to plan C: litter pick the green
Lots of new faces this week (to me), including GG newbie Chloe - give her a cheer!
We quickly warmed up in front of base with some single leg work, skipping and the burpee name game, before heading off on an extended lap of the block
We collected some litter pickers and bin bags and split into teams collecting rubbish from the bushes
All sorts were found, including the usual vodka bottles, tins and a solitary shoe
After 25 solid minutes we put all our rubbish in the bins or recycling, returned our tools and had a quick round of a circuit to get everybody warmed back up
Burpees, squats, pushups, vertical mountain climbers and planks. Before finishing with a quick game of duck duck goose (which decended into some unexpected chaos in the end)
The group then semi sprinted back to base for stretches and high fives
Next week Chi is incharge. He'll be b leading the group to chestnuts park for some mulching and other green tasks while I'm away at a wedding.
I just realised I didn't take a group photo this evening! But there is a video of duck duck goose on my Instagram stories, if you wanna see everyone running around

Andrew has done their first good deed with GoodGym.
Andrew is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.

8 runners dodged hail and football fans for 2km to help Downlane studio rearrange some marquees.
It was a bit of a chaotic start with Pennie dropping out due to injury, the first Tottenham match in the new stadium kicking off and a sudden hail storm all conspiring to prevent us from getting away on time.
Dave struggled to explain Pennies ankle flexor warm up, so we moved onto a round of "freestyle burpee" name game. Where we struggled with Louise's complicated name.
Then we dashed off towards Tottenham Hale, where we had one or the oddest tasks ever. Moving two giant tents.
We split into two teams. Team "Power lift" who moved all the plants and cables holding down the tent. Team "How many runners does it take change a light bulb?" who shifted everything inside the tent. Including a full sized freeze dried palm tree!
Tropical Thunder
With all that done, everyone grabbed a pole, and we slid the large tent over. Feeling very smug.
Until we had to pivot the VERY large tent. It took every one of us, but we managed to get it into its new position in the nick of time!
We skipped a formal fitness session, by did manage go make a sprint through the cycle lane strava segment on the way to back to base.
Congratulations to Latoya for breaking into the top 10! On a dryer day, I bet we can smash these times.
