OH, WHAT A NIGHT AND WE HAVE LIGHT..whoop!!
A CHANGE OF PLAN TO THE ORIGINAL TASK
However a wonderful 4 k run in the light along the riverbank in Bath this evening for a spot of PLOGGING for 17 runners.
PLOGGERS AWAY
A warm up and headcount with a scone theme, jam or cream first?? Poor Mary had a hard life growing up so it was marg and jam but I’ll stick to jam first. A warning to stay safe and away from the water’s edge before heading along the riverside to Churchill bridge and the south side to the Quays and beyond to collect as much litter as possible.
HI HO…A PLOGGING WE GO
Gloves and litter pickers at the ready and they’re off along a stretch of the riverbank to see just how much litter we can collect in 40 minutes, to save our waterways and oceans from the increasing amount of plastics that are destroying our oceans.
A LOTTA BOTTLE
In fact we collected so many empty bottles topped with some unusual finds from a toothbrush charger to a swanky trainer but the prize goes to the guitar body ... Ta Da!!
WE ARE THE WASTE WARRIORS
10 bags later and a short PLOG back with a bit of weight lifting from the team just to prove we take the gym outdoors.
Thanks Emma for back marking and Joe for another fabulous pun... literally.
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE

SNOW JOKE this morning for 5 darn fine ladies for a bitterly cold 6k run to ALICE PARK COMMUNITY GARDEN for a spot of digging and manure menoeuvering
WELCOME TO RODIE... WHOOP!!
Joining us for her first taste of Goodgym. What a fine job she did with her partner in crime Angharad on wheelbarrow 1 and Mary and Allie on barrow 2, i would also like to point out that team barrow 1 had to push with a flat tyre making the task an extra tough workout for our lovely students.
It's a mucky job, but someones go to do it
We worked for 50 minutes digging over the beds and covering the prepped soil with a nice layer of manure ready for the new growing season. 6 wheelbarrows full on each bed brought across from the bottom of the garden and 5 beds in total.
Frozen fingers
Finally got the better of us, with task completed our host KATHY warmed our hands and hearts with fresh mint tea and her own spicy warm nut mix in the shelter of the green house .... Fabulous!!
we arrived back at the leisure centre and made a few new friends whilst stretching out and couldn't resist a picture.

A FABULOUS STARTER SESSION tonight to KICK START SPRING into action at Goodgym Bath with a whopping 20 runners taking  part in a 2k run to St Marks community centre in Widcombe, the task was phase 1 of prep work to wire brush and clean down the railings and main gates ready for painting at a later date.
OMG!!
WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME to Penny, Kerri, Katy, Angharad, Rachael, Oliver and Emily.....Whoopee!! and High 5 or 7 as the case may be.
A few more announcements before we headed out for the warm up and headcount with a flowery theme for all the mothers out there doing their thing.
CONGRATULATIONS to ALISON
on completing 50 Good deeds and earning those Black thunder wings…. Yippee!! That’ll be another black t-shirt in the group, plus she’s now mission verified.
The run route out was a short run along the riverside to Widcombe and to our task destination. Alex was our host this evening, he had wire brushes a plenty to assist with the job of prepping the main gates and railings with face masks and gloves on offer this evening to provide suitable protection as we are working with old paintwork safety is important.
A lot of elbow grease from our wonderful members was required on this job but there was opportunity to take a break and be on ladder holding duty for those working on the gates. Squats whilst shining the lights was another one to a bit of Depeche Mode
TIME UP ON THE TASK
There was however enough time to enjoy some sprint 3’s before taking a steady run back to the leisure centre for our stretches and reminders that you’ll need to bring your ID along to group run for verification before you can embark on Missions or be paired up with your own Coach.
Thank you to Christopher for back marking and to Rachael and Penny for tonight’s fabulous pun this evening with too many to choose from this evening but we can bag the others for another day.  Â
