Tonight we headed to Rokeby Gardens & community woods in Headingley to chop hedges & to clean up a space that had been previously used as a homeless camp.
We cleared so much stuff, it just shows what a difference a GoodGym session can make. Well done team!

It will allow local community members to have a new space to use and enjoy nature in as well as helping to protect the trees and wildlife within the woodland.

We split into groups to help Bedford Fields with their to-do list. Tasks included litter picking, gravel path laying, and breaking down old mushroom growth kits for compost!

Tonight, armed with drills, screws and head torches, we headed up to OWLS allotments to fix raised beds and to weed the paths for the last time this year. It got very dark up there, so I'm afraid it's dark tasks ahead for next few months.

Lovely session at Meanwood Farm covering wheel hoeing, compost turning, compost carrying and weeding!!
This was our first task of the year which became fully dark, hi viz and headtorches needed from now on!
There were lots of new faces last night. Welcome to Goodgym and hope to see you all again soon.
Winning TV series from intros were Traitors, Ted Lasso and theres some anime fans in the group.

We are a small charity with limited resources, so jobs like this often fall by the wayside. It helps us to continue to focus on our core work, but also with compost, it means we can have less inputs and save money

Tonight was as eventful as ever! After being very late tonight, I then proceeded to stand on a rake & got hit in the face!! The world is trying to tell me something....
Everyone got to work at Bedford Fields with 3 teams; weeders, rakers & soil baggerupers! As always, we got lots done and there was just as much chatting & merriment.
It was a nice surprise to see Helen tonight who's back from her travels.
