Sheffield Report written by Tom Mutton
A BIG #GGSHEFF welcome to two new runners:
Katie from Leeds.
Carla from Brighton.
Tonights task was at The Hope Centre, an impressively massive space that has a whole raft of things going on from Church, to youth to conference based activities.
We met Mark McKnight the Facilities manager on site who gave us a brief on the evenings task which was to sort through chairs and tape up the ones that need attention due to wobbling issues or screws starting to come through the fabric which is a right pain in the arse!
We made quick work of the chairs in the conference room and soon moved down into the MEGA CELLAR where the were a MEGA LOAD of chairs to also go through. We got straight to it, forming a production line that would have made Jeff Bezos blush!
After a decent session on the chairs we rolled and shuffled them back into the storage area, ready for the facilities team to do their thing to improve the sturdiesness and comfort of our four legged friends.
We'll be back to The Hope Centre again for some sorting of other items and possibly some skip filling to help make room for converting the MEGA CELLAR into a Youth Club.
Until next time, happy running :)

Barnet Report written by Leicester runner
Spent 15 minutes making observations for the citizens science survey on part of the River Soar in Leicester. A lovely peaceful task helping The Big River Watch.
Steph Ducat did his survey on the Greenwich Peninsula near the O2 and facing Canary Wharf
Tracey surveyed the river Derwent and also the river Heulyn with Gwyn, where they saw waterboatmen. He also went to the Seiont.
I did an observation and submitted the survey this morning, I went to Camden Town and reported on Regent's Canal. Photo attached.
The app was super easy to use and made the entire experience very easy to go through and also quite engaging.

Brighton Report written by Carla Washbourne
One of the longer distances to a mission for much of the GoodGym Brighton crowd, we ran and wheeled our way out west to Vale Park in the beautiful late summer sunshine.
Main mission: removing a huge proliferation of dock plants and bindweed from the park’s beloved yellow rose bed, giving the roses space to really do their thing.
Yellow roses are aptly a symbol of friendship and we always welcome new friends at GoodGym Brighton! Tonight, we were joined by Harrison, Edward, and Nick on their first GoodGym community mission.
Working under the excellent direction of Lucy and other Friends of Vale Park we donned gardening gloves and spread ourselves around the rose beds. Moving between waves of excited chatter and meditative hush, we pulled up plants and unwound bind weed from branches and stems. At points we were all so hidden in the depths of the flowerbeds that only occasional flashes of red t-shirt gave us away.
Creating an ever-growing pyramid of leaves adjacent to the flower bed, we stacked our spoils higher and higher like a childhood game of dare until the pile eventually slumped. Then started all over again.
Roses freed, we ran off into the sunset like the subtle superheroes we all are.
Ciao Ciao Carla, Bye Bye, lovely friend and GoodGym Brighton Hero.
Tonight, with a sightly tingled heart, GoodGym Brighton said GoodBye to you but we truly believe it is only a "Bye For Now" .
