Last night, the GoodGym crew assembled to celebrate Nadia and Andy officially tying the knot 👰🤵🎉.

Huge shout-out to Anne for booking the Grand Taj 🍛🔥. A few people couldn't make it, but honestly? More poppadoms for the rest of us 🤤.

When Wayne and Kirsty rocked up, Nadia, Andy Anne, Luan, and Caterina were already huddled together around what looked suspiciously like the round banishing table from The Traitors 👀🗡️ (more plotting on that in a second).

Before any Faithfuls got voted out, two massive towers of poppadoms landed, complete with a mountain of pickles and chutney to dive into 🫓🧅. Rebecca arrived fresh from the daily grind 💼🏃‍♀️, closely followed by Alys and her husband Dan.

The drinks flowed: beers 🍺, soft drinks 🥤, and one absolute legend who casually ordered an entire bottle of wine just for themselves 🍷👀 (my lips are sealed, but you know who you are).

Between ordering starters and devouring mains, we got the full wedding lowdown 💒💖. Plot twist: it was ALSO Alys and Dan’s 1-year wedding anniversary! 🥳 How has it been a year already?! Time flies when you’re not getting murdered at night ⏳😱.

Naturally, the chat spiralled into Celebrity Traitors 🏰 cloak mode activated! Superfan Dan led the inquest, with everyone passionately defending why they’d be criminal masterminds on the show 🕵️‍♂️🎭. Dan dropped a hot tip that there's now an immersive Traitors experience in town... so yes, consider that fully pencilled in as the next GoodGym team-building exercise (trust nobody) 🤫🔪.

Top-tier food 🍛, hilarious chat 🗣️, and 10/10 vibes all round 👌.

Next stop on the calendar: the Christmas party, with Alys taking the reins! 🎄🎅 Get your party hats ready! 🥳🍻

*Annual Community Fridge Paint *

This evening we headed back to the Knaphill Community Fridge to carry out the annual stain painting of the shed. 😀

It was a beautiful evening ☀️ . Wayne, Caterina, and Jemma all met at the fridge.

Jules was waiting with all the tools and materials that we needed. First task was to brush all the shed down making sure the exterior was nice and clean before we started to apply the stain 🎨.

Once we were happy we all started at different ends and got cracking. It was great catching up with Jemma who had recently been in Spain 🇪🇸 were she took part in a litter clean around the Sea 👏🏽 , it all sounded amazing.

It was also great to catch up with Caterina who had also been away in Italy 🇮🇹to see family 😀

In no time we had finished painting the shed and the gate, and with the sun beaming down it dried in double quick time.

We cleared up grabbed our sweet treat that Jules always provides and heading home to watch the big game ⚽️

Caterina, Alys and Anne met at the Leisure Centre by a cold, wet and windy evening... Not the ideal weather to perform a plogging session using the litter pickers borrowed from the council.

But they carried on, catching up on news as both Alys and Caterina have been very busy lately and unable to attend a GoodGym event.

We managed to cover 4 kms in the Woking Football Club area and filled a whole black bin bag with various items, mainly bottles or cans, although Alys, the litter picker queen, and her little dog Quinn, spotted several wooden or plastic pieces of cutlery. As we plogged along, we discussed our various experiences about languages; Alys as her husband is Spanish, Caterina who is Italian and French Anne.

All in all we had a super evening helping to keep Woking welcoming while enjoying being together.

Woking GG Xmas Meal 🎅🏽

Goodgym Woking members got together for a Xmas meal last night at Zizzi's 🍕.

What a great turn out last night was it was fantastic to see so many turn up to celebrate a great year together as Woking GG.

Firstly big thank you to Nadia who organised the venue 👏🏻.

Karen arrived first as she was already in town helping out at another local charity 😇 followed by Wayne. The table setting was impressive full of Crackers and decorations 🎗. Adam then arrived without his crutches which was great to see, still not back to 💯 but recovering well. Adam was telling us about his house move last weekend and how grateful he was to his fellow goodgymers who assisted his 😄 Caterina arrived shortly after looking very glam and sparkly ❈. Karen was telling us about her up and coming trip to India 🇮🇳 traveling around for a month just after Xmas, sounds amazing. As the conversation was flowing Kirsty & Bryan arrived followed by Melanie he had come straight from work. Stephanie arrived followed by Julie everyone was looking very festive 🎄. Just behind Anne arrived wearing her GG Shirt as well as her red tutu ❤️ Nadia & Andy arrived followed by Alys who had brough us all little choco treats ❤️. And finally Rebecca arrived straight off the train. It was great hearing about Rebecca 1/2 marathon that she did in New York 🗽 few weekends ago.

Now that everyone had arrived we could order food and drink. Plenty of food was ordered from Pizza's to Risotto's To Pasta dishes everything looked and tasted great.

All in all it was a great night celebrating a great year with fantastic people. ❤️

"This Girl Can" #letsliftthecurfew 🏃🏼‍♀️

This evening Woking GG met at the leisure centre to do a community litter pick run and the highlight the "This Girl Can" campaign. The litter pick part of the task did not happen as Wayne could not find the litter pickers so it was a gentle run around the leisure centre 🏃🏼‍♀️.

Anne, Katie, Julie, Nadia, Luan, Caterina, met at the entrance to the leisure centre they were joined by our newest member Olalekan. After introductions we switched on our head torches and headed off.

It was great seeing Julie who has been very busy of late and also fantastic to see Caterina join us for an evening run 😀.

While we were running we got to know Olalekan who many years ago represented his country in a number of athletic events 🏃‍♂️ Olalekan has just moved to the area and is so far loving Goodgym.

Let’s Lift The Curfew launched in 2023 to showcase women’s stories and concerns around getting active outdoors in the darker months when the clocks go back, as well as calling on wider society to acknowledge their role in making getting active outdoors safer for women. 😀🏃🏼‍♀️
