Cîsu Ioana-Miruna earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Cîsu completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Cîsu was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

8 GoodGym Coventry runners volunteered with FareShare to support the UK's largest food collection.
Our task was to hand out shopping lists with a list of suggested donations so that shoppers could pick up a few extra items whilst doing their shopping and then drop it off at the collection point. Once the campaign has ended, Tesco deliver the food to the nearest FareShare Regional Centre, and it can then distributed throughout the year to charities, breakfast clubs and community groups to provide meals for vulnerable people. Tesco also provide a 20% financial top-up to customers’ donations to provide further support to FareShare.
We arrived at Tesco and were warmly welcomed by staff who provided us with festively red tabards (to match the GoodGym red tshirts and the Christmas tree baubles!) and shopping list leaflets. The 3 hour shift was split into three so that everyone had the opportunity to hand out leaflets, chat to shoppers and even start to feel a little festive?
The shoppers were generous, adding items such as tea, soup, pasta and tinned vegetables to the trolley throughout the evening. And when we thought we couldn't fit much more in, a member of staff kindly repacked the trolley for us so there was space for a few more tins :-)

Cîsu Ioana-Miruna cheered by other people 25 times.
Cîsu is part of a crowd that's making a huge noise. Cîsu has been cheered by 25 people - that's a round of applause just on their own. We hope they keep it up.

Tonight heralded another week of painting as 16 GoodGym runners ran to Foleshill Community Centre to support Feeding Coventry. We also welcomed John from Birmingham this week. On our way to the centre, we all enjoyed getting in some energetic reps by the Canal Basin. Well done everyone. We also enjoyed running through the streets of Foleshill, enjoying the sights and sounds as many people from the Sikh community were celebrating tonight. As we were familiar with the staff and task, we all got to work quickly, with groups painting furniture and shelving and others giving the toilets a paint too. Our runners enjoyed a quick samosa (or 2) before running back to Drapers. It has been fantastic to see the progress we have made over the weeks to this building and can’t wait to see it coming back to life for the local community very soon. There will be a Community Mission on the 30th November where GoodGym will return to help put the finishing touches on the project. Sign up here.

A great evening for some more painting as 16 GoodGym Coventry Runners and it was great to welcome Iona headed again to Foleshill Community Centre to support Feeding Coventry.
Flanked by fireworks displays on either side, we ran to the Community Centre. Alan's feet guided us up the stairs- thanks Alan. Eagerly, all members armed themselves with brushes and 'appropriate' footwear and set to with the task. Walls, furniture and bathrooms were painted tonight.
The task is almost finished and looks awesome. We look forward to seeing Ellie again next Tuesday and again for a Community Mission on the 30th November - sign up here
Have a lovely week, Liz x
