Glass act.

Southwark Report written by Emma McNally

It was another rainy evening in London when we gathered at Old Spike. After a quick warm-up, we set off on our 3K run to the Old Alleynian Rugby Club, grateful that Ian had thoughtfully arranged an indoor task to shelter us from the weather.

Our mission for the night was to tackle the changing room windows, which were certainly overdue a proper clean. Armed with cloths and determination, we scrubbed away the grime, and the transformation was instantly rewarding and the whole space felt brighter as a result.

To top it all off, Ian generously treated us to some chocolate before we headed back out into the drizzle for our run home—a sweet end to a productive evening.

Hard Work & Shed-ication

Southwark Report written by Lindy Macfarlane

8 of Southwark's finest headed to Galleywall nature reserve for the first session there of the year. With some helpful handles and a lot of 'to me, to you's' the team relocate the shed to the back of the garden, to allow for a more aesthetic entrance to be planted. The team work continued in task 2, forming a daisy chain to pass rocks from the back of the garden to the pond to form the rocky bank pictured. Good job team !

Pane-staking work

Southwark Report written by Emma McNally

Five of us gathered on a rainy January evening at Old Spike—those brave enough to face the weather. We were delighted to welcome Charlotte, who was new to Southwark GG but already a seasoned GoodGymer. We set off on a 3k run through the rain to the Old Alleynian Rugby Club, where Ian was waiting for us.

Thoughtfully, he had found us a sheltered task: giving the clubhouse windows a much-needed clean. After our hard work, we were rewarded with delicious homemade brownies baked by Ian’s wife—a perfect treat!

Feeling accomplished and well-fed, we ran back to Old Spike, spirits high despite the rain.

Re-tree-ving Christmas

Southwark Report written by Emma McNally

We met up at Old Spike on a chilly January evening, which was a nice way to kick things off after the Christmas break. After a quick warm-up, we headed up to Telegraph Hill and the Christmas tree graveyard.

We split into two teams, led by Lindy and Paulin, and set about collecting abandoned Christmas trees. Between us we managed to pick up a brilliant 12 trees in total. It ended in a draw, so the Percy Pigs prize was shared out all round.

The run back down the hill was much easier, and once we were back at Old Spike we wrapped things up with a cool-down.
