We went full elf mode today at Deen City Farm to help bring some festive magic to Santa's Grotto!
Our four-person team divided and conquered the tasks: two of us were on crucial Nice List verification duty, checking if all the excited children had made the cut (Spoiler: they all did!). The other two volunteers were essential in the Grotto, capturing those perfect photos with Santa and ensuring every child received a gift. It was a busy day, with a long queue but luckily the weather was on our side with the sun shining.
Great job team and a big welcome to Sophia, well done on your first good deed.

We hit the ground to support Merton Council's White Ribbon Walk in Morden Hall Park today.
Starting with a stroll from the Civic Centre to the meeting point to join with others and earn some steps, it also gave us the opportunity to meet new and familiar faces whilst raising awareness for the White Ribbon campaign.
Huge thanks to Merton Council for inviting us to support this important event. Every step counts towards ending male violence against women.

Last night we tackled a mission at South Mitcham Community Association, to clear a large garden bed and prepare it for planting. With spotlights and all the right tools for the job we were in for a real treat as the rain held off and we got busy unearthing lots of weeds and roots, filling many bags, and salvaging a few potatoes! 🥔
With the bed cleared in just 30 minutes, the team took the initiative and set about tackling the rest of the garden area, then tidied up and went on our way.Â
Most of us joined the group run back to base via the beautiful River Wandle. While it will undoubtedly be a stunning path in the spring and summer daylight, running it as a group at night provided an excellent fitness boost.
A big welcome to Ivo, on your first Merton task, and we hope to see you again soon. Well done team, we totally aced those spuds!
