Tonight’s session was all about quizzing fun at Abbeyfield Wessex! This time, Paul and Mohammed joined The Loose Women, while Eleanor sided with The Motley Crew. Caprice took the reins as quizmaster for the evening.
The quiz featured five lively rounds, including a nostalgic "Name That Gameshow Theme Tune" and a playful "Sink or Float" round. Caprice kicked things off by handing out random household objects, prompting the teams to guess whether each item would sink or float. At the end of the round, she tested each object in water—one point awarded for every correct guess!
Both teams brought their A-game in a very close match. The Loose Women scored an impressive 36 points, but it was The Motley Crew who edged ahead to victory with 39 points!
A great evening filled with laughs, teamwork, and a little friendly rivalry. Who knows what next month’s challenge will bring?
The GoodGymers will return on Monday 9th June for more quizzness—we hope to see you there!

It's that time again! GoodGym's Quiz at Abbeyfield Retirement Home! Tonight, all goodgymers except Eleanor met at the session, Eleanor like a trooper ran to the task and with one more session and Eleanor will be on her 50th good deed!! The groups split into three teams, Millie, Sophie and James Joined "The Loose Women" Emma and Harry joining "The Inadequates" And Eleanor, Mohammed and Daryl joining the team "We Four Kings" With the Quiz master tonight being Caprice, tonight's session also marked Caprice's 400th Good Deed. Yay! The quiz consisted of four rounds, History, Maths, General knowledge and Science and Nature. They even had a Picture Round which consisted of naming the famous landmarks. Tonight was tough, all teams worked hard but "We Four King's" and "The Inadequates" both top teams scoring 50/58!! A tie breaker question was set with the closest team to the answer for the win. Miraculously both teams were Four points out! What are the chances? It was too close to call so Caprice decided to make both teams The Winner. Well done to both teams, what cracking scores!! We will return again next month, We hope to see you there!

6 Goodgymers (met at the charity and were welcomes by Poppy. She took us onto the roof where the large panels for the podcast booth were being stored beneath a tarpaulin. We set to work carrying then between 3 or 4 of us as they were very heavy. Getting them through the door and into the storage area was tricky but with everyone chipping in, we managed it. A great task for Keith to earn his 100 tshirt on! Fantastic achievement Keith!

Fourteen, yes, you are reading this right, fourteen Goodgymmers turned up at Abbeyfield for another, obviously very popular, quiz night. The 7 Abbeyfield residents that joined us were thus slightly outnumbered. But whether two to one or not: fun was had by all…. that stayed awake! Valentine’s dingbats were followed by a round of geography, a round of general knowledge and a music round. And if you didn’t know this before, you now know that agapornis is a love bird, a very important fact if you’re the twitching kind. And a bit of knowledge of French isn’t amiss either when baiser and galettes make an appearance. And musical talent in abundance judging by the crooning along to Frank Sinatra, Dusty, Elvis, and “who’s that?”… Another successful quiz night, much appreciated by the Abbeyfield residents.
