Tonight we welcomed Hannah to GoodGym for first time and we also had Joanne come along who was visiting from GG Exeter.
Four of the group ran to the task from the Good Intent and the others met us at the session. Laura warmly greeted us and it was on with the task.
We had to fill wooden frames with compost then cover the area around them with woodchipping, hence the pun thought up by James. Well actually we didn't just 'chip away' at the task in the end, we completed the whole thing! It was a really great job done which Laura more than appreciated :)
Once done it was time for a group photo then the group scattered, some running and some walking.

Tonight GG Brum were back on the hills! Yep it was the coached running session led by Jonny.
We ran around 1k to the Mailbox where we'd do a hill session. The session was some hill strides to start with to improve form, then it was into 10 minutes of Kenyan Hills. This was then followed with some lactic hill sprints! Both Eve and Emily worked very hard, going literally flat out on the hill sprints!
Once done we headed back to the Good Intent to collect the litter pickers for a quick litter pick around the Carrs Lane Church.

Emily Howe earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Emily completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Emily was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

It was a fantastic evening at St. Martinâs Church, with lots of painting to be done down an office corridor, leading into the outdoor area of a previous gardening task!
The shade was âEgyptian Cottonâ - hence âgreigeâ⌠itâs a lovely fresh shade mixing beige and grey. So, before long our rollers were rolling and our paintbrushes were brushing!
Lots of tidy, intricate work around light switches, bannisters and along the masking tape borders. Plus some good coats on the main walls. We had a brilliant team and enjoyed welcoming Sophie to her first task.
Rich from the church helped us along with our painting and gave us a lovely little tour of other areas needing a fresh lick of paint. A few of us then headed into the city centre for a social and got a taste of Birmingham Cocktail Weekendâs vibes!
Stay tuned for the next task and our Christmas social going in the diary. Thank you again to everyone for helping out, it was wonderful teamwork!
