10 tough GoodGymers braved the sub zero temperatures to spread their creative wings with s Spray paining task with St Abdrews Yourh club and a gym clean.
Great session guys!! Really great to have you along for the group run! A bit different that our normal physical Wednesday task we go super creative!
A chance to learn and spray paint with the amazing young people of St Andrews youth club which is still going strong after 153 years of providing a safe, fun and friendly place for Westminster’s young people.
Grabbing a canvas are stencilling, free painting watch and learning from all the St Andrews members, be shout out to Sven who helped us not get in too much of a mess showing us the spray painting ropes.
Some brilliant designs produced with some awesome skylines and GG logo’s which we got to keep and added a little to the run back wind resistance!
With just enough time to give the very well used gym a little clean so it is fresh for the members to increase their fitness.
Rounding us up nicely to 5k for the evening we bounded back to base keeping the pace strong to keep warm!
Thanks for coming along and hope to see you for the Starter session on Saturday Lunch time in Little Venice and next Wednesday for our Homeless donation run around town.
Have a great week

21 amazing Westminster GoodGymers ran a brilliant 7k and sorted out all of One Big Family home less charity’s Winter clothing donations!
** News**
Chi let us know about the assault course training sessions that will be taking place twice a month leading up to the ** Spartan Race** in May!! Get yourself signed up for the training sessions. And the volunteering and racing info for the Spartan Race.
Thanks to Olivia for the shout out for this Sunday’s GoodGym Long Run training session starting in Kew. All the information is here.
After a flurry of DBS checks to enable runners to access the delights of Missions and Coach runs we got down to the business of Starting GG Westminster 2019 with some energetic and happy running and sorting!
With Danny controlling the back of the group we headed through the busy streets of Central London avoiding as many pockets on pedestrian congestion as possible!! We managed to get a good glimpse of loads of London’s Landmarks as we elegantly glided South towards the River. Managing to keep together for most of the session which was a minor miracle but not as unbelievable as the unprecedented run of Green man (person?) lights we were lucky enough to catch!! Allowing us to speedily get down to the Ebury Estate to meet One Big Family Homeless Charity.
One Big Family Victoria are as small a charity as it gets providing food, clothing and other assistance to Westminster’s homeless community twice a week every week of the year.
After a bumper load of clothing donations piled high in the charities lock ups we had the task of sorting through all the clothing to find the Winter wear then bag it into The type of clothing and splitting by gender and size as well as getting a kids bag ready to go.
15 bags of warm clothes all bagged up and ready to be given out to the homeless community later in the evening.
With the task complete we blitzed the run back laying down some seriously speedy segments of running through Victoria, up to Buckingham Palace then a final big burst up the legendary Green Park drag!
A little trot bag to the New Balance Store finished off a great evening!!
Thanks for a top session and hope to see you all next week for our trip to the River!

14 cheerful GoodGymers ran 6k to help One Big Family helping the homeless charity in Victoria.
A massively important evening of volunteering complete!! With 2 of the 4 volunteers from the charity unable to help with the evening’s food preparation and distribution GoodGym made a massive impact making all the sandwiches ready to be handed out to Westminster’s homeless.
With freezing temperatures Westminster’s most venerable needed that helping hand more than ever and was great to see a top group able to really impact.
A 3k run weaving South expertly lead by Rhys and Frances to One Big Family Victoria. Splitting into 3 groups we had the Vegetarian sandwich makes producing Cheese and falafel sandwiches. Which the Chicken sandwich production line was in full flow and the final group had the mission of moving 200 big books up 4 floors of stairs to be cataloged.
150 sandwiches made, bagged and packed. 200 booked lifted, shifted and stacked in 35 productive minutes!!
A swift 3k run back to base rounded off a fun filled December evening.
Thanks to Danny for the extra pictures!!
Hope to see next week for our Mince Pie Run and Social
