'Twas a dark autumnal night for this weeks group run and with Halloween behind us and bonfire night just ahead there was an eerie feeling in the air, but fear not for our trusty 9 runners there was a job to finish at Manvers Baptist church with a 3k run to eat up first.
A vey warm welcome tonight to Hannah Joining us for her first Goodgym experience and with plenty of old hands to explain the different ways to be involved and make her feel welcome it was sure to be a night to remember.
Time to get moving after our warm up and headcount and catch up on any news, congratulations to our newly qualified level 3 personal trainer Joe, I'm sure he can put his skills to the test going forward on the group runs.
We made our way weaving around the city streets with some hill sprints from Jon and Joe on route before arriving at our destination.
Pete our host as ever was ready and waiting armed with brushes and green paint to finish glossing the Widcombe room.
Emily and Ed tackled the picture rail, some might say a couple of drips but the less said about that the better. The two Johns on the green doors whilst the rest worked their magic on the skirting, windowsill and that iconic radiator, 40 minutes in total and after a bit of tuition and white spirit magic from Pete on the floor.
THE ROOM WAS FINISHED
just a small joke about having to re-emulsion the walls... Ha!!
They say time flies when your having fun and that was certainly the case this evening, just time to get that all important group photo before heading back to the leisure centre for a stretch out.
A reminder to bring your ID along to the next group run if you wish to be paired up with your very own isolated older person or want to take part in missions. Emily will be happy to go through this with you.
Thank you Pascale for back marking tonight and for tonight's pun. Shakin Stevens inspired for those of you who are too young.
Look forward to seeing you all at next weeks run for The British Heart foundation https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/getting-to-the-heart-of-the-task

A wonderful autumnal evening in Bath and an ever ready Dirty Dozen runners and a relatively flat 5k run to Oldfield Baptist church toddler group to clean toys ready for the new term.
A catch up on everything that's been going on from races to Goodgym news and general chit chat before our warm up this evening . Well done to Jonathan who ran a 10 miler in Battersea at the weekend coming first in his age group.
The run out sweeping (not literally) our way along the lower Bristol road to Oldfield park and task destination Oldfield Baptist church.
Our host tonight was Liz and the sight before us was like a scene from TOY STORY, maybe minus WOODY or was he lurking somewhere? The answer to that was a Gert Big NO, our task was to get the toys nice and clean. Splitting into teams with two groups wiping down toys with anti bac spray. Sam and Steve were hard at it in the kitchen washing their blocks off in the dish steriliser. Lucy seemed very interested in the pink Barbie phone whilst Kieron was waving his magic wand whilst holding a handbag... enough said. Jon was frantically trying to find all the eggs for the carton... a case of EggCD and Pascale was road testing the pink trike.
A very excited Liz as the group made light work of tonight's task. 30 minutes up and a chance for
THE GOODGYM TODDLER GROUP
To strike a pose on stage with their musical instruments.. SHAKE RATTLE AND RUN before saying farewell and cruising back to the leisure centre.
Thanks to Rosie for backmarking Thanks Lucy for tonight pun
A big push on Document checking So if your waiting to get paired up bring your documents down to a DBS party or group run

It may be getting dark but we had 15 fabulous Goodgym runners lighting up the streets of Bath tonight for our #runandtalk starter session for mental health awareness day and the task destination was Royal Victoria Park play area and skate park, the task was to rake and bag up as many leaves as possible.
Two super new guys tonight so a warm welcome to Jonathan and Kieron... welcome!!
A lot of chatting tonight during warm up especially from the TERRIBLE TWINS ( you know who you are) but great to hear so much banter even though It meant I had to shout a bit louder, it's all good therapy. The headcount went smoothly.
The group swept through the city centre with the lovely Ellen backmarking tonight . A quick stop off in Kingsmead square for some upper body work before the final straight along to the park where Lucy and Steve were waiting to join us after their run from the other direction.
It took a bit of organising to get the groups of three into position along the perimeter railings armed with rakes and bags with the aim to fill as many black bags as possible in 30 minutes. In total we FILLED 18 BAGS although we lost count of the winning teams total, so we'll have to call it a draw.
A last minute dash over to the skate park for some rich pickings from the conker tree before a rather dark group photo was order of the evening. There was 5 minutes of playtime at their own risk, it's all good exercise after all, before we bid farewell to Jonathan, Steve,Lucy and Ellen who were running off in the other direction.
Just enough time left with Pascale backmarking to #runandtalk all the way back to base for a stretch out and a few announcements Rosie and Emily have earned their Black T shirts with 50 good deeds and well done! to Pascale who ran the York marathon at the weekend.
A reminder please that we have 6 isolated older people waiting to be coaches, so if your DBS checked and done your coach runner training get in touch with Emily@goodgym.org and she'll get things rolling .
Don't forget to sign for our Birthday Party ... whoop!! https://www.goodgym.org/parties/goodgym-bath-s-1st-birthday
Thank you again everyone... Amazing as always!!
