6 GoodGymers tackled the leafleting task with youthful energy (until Christian set a challenging run pace) and after splitting into 3 teams, we followed our maps to explore parts of the local area new to some. We discovered the Hyde Park Picture House; New Headingley Club; several primary schools and churches lacking letter boxes. Sainsbury's vetted our leaflets most thoroughly...their noticeboards really do 'Taste the Difference'....All completed in an hour of beautiful sunshine. What a night! We celebrated Katie's upcoming wedding with a feast by Shannen & her catering company, The Honest Supper Club. The food was amazing & we polished it off with cake curtesy of Snack Force leader Jubz. Thanks guys, we loved it!! We all had a go at writing Katie's vows & apparently 12 kids & a peaceful home are on the agenda, along with pants on a lamp post?!!?!?!?!

Before the feast, the runners were taken on a wildlife mystery tour with an Alpaca being the star of the show. We did 5K, so we were a bit late for the task, but luckily the non runners were already hard at work (sorry guys)! We trimmed hedges, cleared the brambles, litter picked and revealed the tiles along the path.

We finished off with a walk back to Heart. Thanks for a great evening all & good luck Katie!

After a very hot run, it was so nice to be back up at the OWLS allotments on a lovely warm evening. We weeded several beds & paths & as there was 13 of us, we made a huge difference by the time we left. I'm always amazed by how much we can get done in an hour! This will allow the OWLS service users to focus on the fun stuff, planting and seeing to all the vegetables they're planting this summer.

Tonight, 16 GoodGymers managed two tasks in one night. We met at Heart and ran to Hyde Park Source where we negotiated the tricky lock to get out the litter pickers and we did a 30 minute litter pick of Rose bank where the team filled 16 bags full of rubbish but Helen won the prize by finding a dead rat!!! Poor old Roland :( We then headed to Left Bank where we washed all their wedding chairs ready for the new season. At one point, we thought that we were done but then found a stack more but the group were troopers and got the cloths back out to finish the job. All of this was finished off with a drink at the end.

It was great to have such a big group tonight, with 15 GoodGymers running up to Bedford Fields to do various jobs. It wouldn't be Bedford Fields without a wood chip workout, so we wood chipped all the paths, cleared and chopped up debris, sieved soil & Jubz dug a big hole to lay a pipe and then filled it all back in.
